Can someone please confirm if a 285/70r17 tire will fit on the stock spare wheel?

The current tire size on the spare wheel right now is P265/65r17.

I went up to 285 from 265 with new 17 inch Method 305 wheels and I'm planning to get a full size spare to match but I want to avoid having to buy another new wheel along with a tire.

Stock wheels were the 17inch TRD Sport wheels for the 2nd gen.

285s fit fine on the stock 16" spare on mine. I assume yours is also a 7" wheel so should be fine

a 285 will fit on your wheel, but the sport wheel does not have enough negative offset, the tire will hit your UCA when you go to put it on when you get a flat.

Totally forgot about the offset. Thanks for bringing that up. Yea, the sport has a +30 offset and I'm assuming the spare wheels are about the same.

However, my work around is to only use the spare for my rear tires. If one of my front tires needs replacing then I will move one of my rear tires to the front and use the spare for the rear. It's a lot work but really trying to avoid having to buy another wheel just to have that negative offset.

I'm assuming that driving with one tire in the rear with a different offset is better than driving it with a smaller tire size.
