This past weeken, we took my wife’s ‘21 4runner out for its first off-road excursion in Sedona. We took Schnebly Hill Rd from I-17 down into town. On the way down I noticed that we were scraping in areas that we probably shouldn’t have. Granted, we did have a fully loaded car with 4 adults, 1 toddler and 3 dogs on tires that were at 19 psi, but still. When we got to the bottom of the trail I got down to inspect the damage to the under carriage and noticed that 2 of the bolts for the skid plate are extruding almost an inch! Our dealership installed the skid plate and has done all the maintenance on it so far, so I’m guessing some lube tech didn’t put this back properly. Which sucks for them because one of these bolts is now bent from getting smashed on the rocks.
