What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Found my bike mount so decided to take the mountain bike out for a spin this morning.

 

We were just talking about batteries some today around post #214848. If warranty covers it that would be great temporarily, but go aftermarket AGM for the long term win. That’s been my experience.

 

Changed out 4 tires and my spare to 265/75-16SL Falken Wildpeaks AT/3W.

Do you have anything on your truck that would draw power when ignition is off?

 

Like so many others I swapped out the radio knobs for the larger gripper Rav4 knobs today. These are really great

Note: Mine hang over the edges like 1mm. I would recommend to those that have already done this to remember to remove these knobs before removing the plastic radio/ vent bezel when doing other future mods. Otherwise they could get scuffed.

 

I just got my set also. Found out they don't really fit on my radio. Barely able to mount and they fall off easily. It appears that the black ring on the back is too tall. So I removed (cut off) the ring and now they work good.

 

I just got my truck KDMax tuned by @Phich (Chris). I couldn't be happier. I noticed that I had a grin on my face as I was driving it away because it felt like a whole new truck. The acceleration and shifting is so smooth now. I highly recommend getting tuned. It's worth the money.

Yeah- that’s the only thing you have to do with this mod, completely pull out the inner black plastic part from the new Rav4 knobs first.

 

Installed my ATH Fab HC Rear Bumper tonight! Was a very simple, and easy install!

Well I did another Mod today.... Joined the Subaru tweeter club, Wow what an improvement.....

 

Toyota puts junk batteries in 3rd gens. My 2016 went out at 18k miles. They will replace it. I suggest, as I and others did, use it for a core on a good battery. Some go with AGM, I went with a 27F, the larger tray for a 2nd gen and had 1030 ca and 840 cca. No more battery issues. Wifes Ford also went out around 18k miles.

 

You will no longer "need" to use the ECT Power button every time you drive it. I had to stomp it from low gear today to get around a vehicle situation and I got a second gear chirp!

 

Put in AJT design blackout handle covers. Buh bye chrome accents!

 

AVS will send you replacement adhesive. When I installed mine (in 28F weather) I emailed them about my idiot move and that I thought the adhesive would give. The send 4 rolls of 3M, but I kept my windows up for like 2 months. the visors are still going strong.
