One bottle of Heet should cover the tank. Add it and then fill the tank full (maybe at a different gas station than normal lol). It should disperse whatever water may be in there and burn it off as if it were normal fuel. Worth a shot anyway, in my opinion.

Is it possible that the water damaged the Injectors?

They originally told me the injectors were bad.. but now it’s water. So either the injectors went bad due to the water or the injectors are fine and it’s just water in the fuel.

Another question, does anyone know if they’re analysis data sheet is able to tell them how much water is in there?

Well the fuel and water should separate and after drained the water and fuel should be able to pour it into individual containers.

Personally I'd see if the issue clears up first. I suppose it's possible but I'm actually not sure on that. I'm sure they could have easily misdiagnosed the issue and it could simply be water in the fuel. I'd just keep diluting with fresh fuel and Heet for a while. I'd imagine once it clears out of the fuel lines it would be good to go and start running much smoother. You can usually find products like Heet at the gas station which is very convenient.

I'd start there since it is far cheaper than a set of new injectors.

Well…. Screw it. Ima pick up the truck and see if adding heet/more fuel will resolve this issue.

let’s hope it turns on at the dealership

Not sure where you are in So.Cal. But about a year ago I got bad fuel (had water in it) which bombed the fuel system on my Diesel truck. This was at a Sinclair station in Placentia. We did have that surprise thunderstorm which hit a couple of weeks ago here in So.Cal so it’s possible that whatever station you use didn’t get their tanks covered and some water got in.

    Hope you get it sorted-out!

I believe the last place I pumped was Costco gas by Alhambra. I have less than 1/4 of fuel in the truck, so hopefully filling it up and adding the additive will be enough to clear it.

How many months since the last injector replacement? Regardless of miles Toyota repairs are supposed to be covered for 12 months to my understanding.

Sounds like they didn’t fix it right the first time…

Be sure to add the additive first just to give it the best chance of mixing in.

No it isn't. It is a dealership being super shitty. Toyota doesn't own or run the dealerships in any way. Now, this isn't to say that Toyota proper can't be shitty with things. It's just that in this case it is not Toyota's fault at all, at least not yet.

I think all you need is the Red bottle,
    water remover and injector cleaner.
Yellow bottle is for cold weather.

So it makes me wonder if I’ve always had bad gas/water issues, or if this is a bad coincidence. It’s had idling/misfire issues from the beginning.

Want to discuss misfire, my PowerBoost misfires like crazy at idle but as soon as there is a load it knows what to do… I think this is a characteristic of direct injection when demand is not there and timing is retarded you get the misfire. :notsure: It hasn’t affected how it drives at all.

Yeah, beats me. For example, my fuel injectors have gone bad by 10k-ish miles… maybe a year later, it stalled on the freeway but no known cause. Prob fuel pump. So After the fuel pump was replaced, I still had random rough idles but they’d go away. Rough to the point of stalling but I’d give it gas and problem fixed. Took it to the dealership multiple times but they could never replicate it nor find any issues. So maybe bad gas all this time? Then it also has the classic taco tick, where even the dealership thinks it’s louder than they’ve heard on any other trucks but it drives so nothing to fix.

so I’m not sure if it’s the truck, me, bad gas… bad fuel injectors, bad fuel pump. I can’t tell anymore. Lol :frusty:

So do you tend to get gas at the same station? Might be the station. Wouldn’t it be nice if it were true?
