We have those colors in Santa Cruz too. It’s called poison oak :) . Seriously, we’re headed to Sedona in ten days … is it too early for fall color down there?

I think riding in the fall anywhere is pretty good! But, since we are talking the four corners area, here’s New Mexico represented.

Either your seller never updated the listing as sold, or the ad has already been plucked by scammers.

Well he hasn’t renewed the ad since I bought it. Which I bought it on FB marketplace. I gotta feeling the guys not active on PB.

I’m assuming that ad is legit. The name Blazer makes sense bc he had a UAB blazers tag.

Got this sweet little thing a couple weeks ago at Luna Cycle in El Segundo, CA to be my little commuter ride for my commute to work; it’s approximately 12-15 miles depending on the route I take, with 1.2 miles on a dirt trail on one of the routes. These Sur Rons are a great hybrid of dirt bikes and mountain bikes! 2A465155-8BEA-4D27-A218-ADBD1FFE5D63.jpg 6ED7F502-288D-417C-AAA3-D226FD6A8C81.jpg 0020486C-4A76-4715-909D-A6CDBCF369A8.jpg 684B8B47-D6A9-4B8C-8550-EF424FC8609E.jpg 044FD4D9-34DD-40E5-8D2A-1385A5ED0A02.jpg D5F6830D-D539-4015-8261-38F957C467E1.jpg 82E04563-8F67-4280-8DA8-BD9118B093E6.jpg 90476E5A-18BE-42B0-BB39-8F6036B6B37E.jpg B186D99C-10E1-49EF-91AB-5B3CE70C038E.jpg F00F0F52-FFA0-4284-B28E-6C5A3BFF3F81.jpg 6E85CD61-1CB6-4835-922F-252021F69AF7.jpg

Do you need a special license to ride that on the street? I think I see a tag but was not sure.

There's a tag on it... Looks like fun, as long as it sticks to its intended purpose. Off MTB trails and bike paths. I've seen a few of these ripping around CO, on sensitive trails, on pedestrian paths, even at night on regular MTB trails. I'm all for trail access, but these things are a mess of trouble for bike access. Simply a light weight and quiet moto, most owners buy them to get to the trails they're usually not allowed to ride on their loud gas-powered bikes.
Not saying @BattlecryTaco would do that, just what I've seen in the past.

Does that thing have enough power to hold a wheelie up for days? To me they appear to be too twitchy with the power roll on compared to a gas powered motorcycle. Not sure, I’ve never ridden one, just curious.

There's currently a small posse hunting a pair of dipshits riding these all over Corner Canyon. Really made a spectacle roosting the landing transitions at the Draper bike park the other day in front of the maintenance guy.

Agreed. No personal issue with E-bikes, but TONS of issues with E-bike riders of a certain ilk. Truly baffles me the number of folks in the SLC riding sphere that have said "well, they don't enforce the rule, so I'm just gonna ride it anyways" in regards to Crest, and other well known E-restricted riding areas.

Nice choice! I have a little shitty e-bike that I bought for cheap that I use to commute every so often. It's slower and I have to stick to the paved biking paths to get to work because some of the roads are just too dangerous for biking on with it but it saves me quite a lot of mileage every so often!

yeah I was just about to post about the corner canyon dipshits. We've had several posts in local groups about them trying to track them down. very much illegal on our trails. But I concur with abacall. They're fun but if they're sticking to intended purposes. Also not saying BattlecryTaco would do it but...in case someone else reads this post. Just don't.

I suspect everyone has stories about electric motorcycles riding where they’re not allowed legally. And I’m not really a fan. But I read an interesting article somewhere that suggested this kind of bike, as a commute/transportation vehicle NOT for off-road recreation, could really benefit urban congestion, carbon emissions etc. worldwide. But most governments have their heads in the sand about this, either requiring an MC license and registration, which may not be possible if the mfr doesn’t comply with safety regs; or banning them from bike paths since they are too fast/powerful/pedal-less etc. And the manufacturers are equally putting their heads in the sand not addressing this. The article pointed out that dedicated lanes and parking for these bikes would be a pretty low-cost infrastructure project in many places. Plus user training and appropriate marketing.

I got passed by some guys riding e-bikes on Hazard County last week (they got dropped off at Warner Lake). Riding an e-bike on a mostly downhill trail seemed silly. We ended up catching them about halfway down Porcupine rim Singletrack which seemed impossible but apparently they weren’t very good technically.

Yeah...it's unfortunate. currently in UT, if your motor has more than 750w of power, then you need to have it registered as a motorcycle with insurance and licensing and everything. anything under is an electric bike. class types aside. (which, btw, e-bike classes still confuse me. class 1 vs 2 vs 3....wtf?) But I agree. having electric "motorcycles" with that much range and power would be awesome to take safely on my local roads to get groceries, go to the bar, go to work. :/

HUH. I thought the shuttle companies weren't allowed to take e-bikes up.....?

    Stuff. Also things.
You can’t demonize the technology, of course, but I’d be really concerned that these sorts of things will attract the same sort of people that are out there tearing up everything in their side by sides.

It isn’t all of the SXS users, but in my experience that platform just seems to attract more of the folks with the No F*cks Given attitude. It’s just too easy to get further back than anyone else and then do crazy amounts of damage once you’re there. Hopefully that isn’t the case with these bikes, though the Corner Canyon douches seem to show that potential does exist…

So I have been really looking at a Zero FXS moto for commuting purposes. The Utah DMV is just as baffled as you by my basic questions. Here's a literal transcript from Monday when I talked to them.

Me: "So if it has an electric motor, do I need an over or under 600cc endorsement to ride this thing legally"

    DMV: "um...does it even need a plate/license"

Me: "well, it's street legal and will do 85mph so I assume so. Should I get the lower or upper endorsement?"

    DMV: "well, what's it's displacement?"

    Me: "...zero..."
