I have only opened the hood twice now. Once when I filled the windshield washer reservoir and once when I changed the air filter and oil.

    So no.

I definitely do but I make sure the engine is cool before I spray it off. I also never us a pressure washer and avoid spraying directly onto electrical connections

I clean my engine bay a few times a year. I usually hit it with the pressure washer for a minute. I don't go into full detail though because it doesn't really need it

I do wipe down the plastic surfaces and major stuff with damp rag when it starts to get a bit dusty. A throwback from my nuke submarine days I guess; as clean everything was the only standard in that engine room!

A few times a year. A "spotless rinse" is usually a low pressure option at the wand wash and does the trick. enough to rinse off grime.

I usually just wipe down the plastic bits. If it’s unusually dirty from an off road trip I’ll use a low pressure rinse.

I used to steam clean my engines once i. Awhile with that foamy steam cleaner you can buy at a parts store, but that was back when I could replace many of the components I could have damaged in the process. Now I might take some cleaner and a rag to the dusty surfaces every other year and call it.

No way. My engine bay looks filthy and I plan to keep it that way.

I mean if you never go off-road, I guess you can clean it. One off-roading trip and the engine bay looks filthy.

Our engines are water cooled so a little of dirt and dust on the engine will not hurt it in any way.

    Ask my accountant
So the general consensus is that you all have filthy engine bays. I dont get it but to each their own. Who cares if “its just a truck”, i dont get that logic either. Its a vehicle that i pay alot for, want to sell for alot when i get rid of it and want to be able to work on should i need to without looking like a coal miner. Stop being so proud of your filth. Wash your shit.

Once the mud burns on to the exhuast and rad hoses I usually give up. I give it a rinse now and then.
