I thought about staining, but concrete has so much variety it’s really awesome on its own. I had someone do the floors in our office (I’m responsible for making the crazy wall haha) I don’t have any great pictures, but that floor is awesome. Parts look like sandstone, others like granite. The whole thing has this cracked eggshell look. Really liked the finished product with a good antique rug.

I will say that it helped a bunch to knock down high spots and any thick carpet glue/adhesive beforehand with the angle grinder.

...^^^... While in College I worked as a janitor at night doing (stripping, waxing & buffing) floors with a giant chrome buffer.

Took me a while to learn to use it ... that thing could tear up a lot of things and break a lot of chair & desk legs.

The guy I replaced destroyed some expensive office furniture ... so I was very careful ... lol

Thanks, not exactly a match, gonna poke around that website and see what I can figure out. Send some pics to them and see what they can come up with. Never thought it would be this much of a pain to find these. Worse case, guess I could cut them in half, prefer not to, but we’ll see.

first time I turned it on I slung it across the room. I thought for sure something wasn’t right haha I’m only 135 lbs so I don’t have a lot to throw into it, but eventually I got the hang of it and learned to work with it, not fight it.

My under-mount sink has been leaking between the counter top and sink for some time. I've been putting it off because I knew it would be a PITA to fix, but it could wait no longer.

This picture is lying on my back looking at the bottom of the counter. The bastard installer screwed these pieces of wood into the cabinet, set the sink on them, then put the counter over the top. There is no way to get the sink out. I had to lay on my back with a hacksaw blade cutting multiple drywall screws to remove the thing.

    Multiple leaks
    2 leak.jpg 3 leak.jpg

The idiot didn't even put silicone the whole way around the sink. It's shit like this that makes me do everything myself. You can't trust contractors.
    4 shit workmanship.jpg 5 more shit.jpg

I remounted the sink using the "Never Fall Sink Repair System". It mounts to the cabinet and uses an adjustable turnbuckle to hold the sink up. If it leaks in the future the sink can be removed. But, it won't leak because I'm not an idiot and put silicone all the way around the sink flange, like any decent human would do.

Heard a critter running around in our ceiling and walls last night, chased it up to the attic and saw it was a flying squirrel coming in/out the eve vent with a big 'ol nut in his mouth. Bought the house back in June and getting screens on the eves was on the to-do list, but just hadn't gotten there yet. So today it moved to the top of the list. 1/4" galvanized wire mesh stapled directly to the vent frame.

Attic fan support frame is mounted directly to the eve framing, so needed to cut the screen in 3 sections and slide the middle section up between the eve and the fan. Was over 90 in the attic even on a cloudy 70 degree day, and barely enough room to crawl around, so I forgot to take pictures of my finished job.

That’s about 12”-16+” of blown in insulation.

When we remodeled the upstairs bathroom I had to dig out close to 20” just to get to the sheet rock to install an exhaust fan, not fun!

Between working full(ish) time at home & visiting NICU 3x a day to feed the growing boy I haven't had too much time but this week I did manage to get the toilet & vanity installed & functional.
    20211004_175709.jpg

The damn tub/shower hardware got delivered to a local FedEx office but they never notified me. So after a week sitting there they returned it to the sender. Now I'm waiting for them to re-route it back here and the current ETA is 10/18 :angrygirl:

Painters are coming this weekend. Then it'll be a scramble to clean the house top to bottom & build a few pieces of furniture for the baby before we hopefully bring him home next week.
