I need an army green scooped hood! Please? Located in Northern California, will travel and swap for my flat hood and $600

You guys are killing us with keeping offering more and more. (Even that "joke" of bidding up a dollar more at a time pushed it from $500 to ~$525, and now we got $600.) I don't think it is going to magically create more hoods, but the ones who are willing to sell/trade are going to expect more. I guess you are making it an easier decision by pushing up the price more and more, eventually it's going to be easier/cheaper just to buy a new one through the dealer...

 

That’s exactly what happens. Look back and you will see posts from skewpers who wanted a trade, but “required” $1000 plus hood needed to have factory protective film. That’s just nuts… at that point, you are better off with a “just for you” hood. People worry about “color match” but that’s actually true on a swap also. In reality, it’s unlikely unless you didn’t take care of YOUR truck. Paint mixes are a precise recipe now and can even be ordered ready to shoot. It takes complete incompetence to miss the mark these days. If you’re paying for a hood, you can expect a match as a condition of acceptance. Several times there have been spawns of group orders.
Hold you head up, $400 and a few beers is fair… but I’m a fan of the TW friendship swap instead of the leave your money on the nightstand exchange.

Personally, the best trade offer I saw for a hood included a Philly Cheesesteak.
I don’t mind offering a little money but at 600 or more you can almost buy a hood. Then about 2-300 to get it wrapped. Luckily for most trucks, a black wrapped hood will look pretty good too.

 

I recon one from a dealer would cost you between $1500-2k+.

I found someone local on offer up selling his TRD sport. Made him the tacomaworld standard offer of my hood + $500 and he said sure. 3 days later, he messages me again and says his wife read the convo and told him to tell me not for sale.

 

Have 2021 scooped army green. Looking for non-scooped version. Located in Indiana.

How bout my hood and kick $500 my way. Or, my hood and if you're looking to kick loose a Prinsu (or the like) roof rack or black short bed softopper we can wheel and deal.

It's only about a 4 hour drive. Maybe he could meet you half way and make it worth it....

 

Dude you should ask this guy if he would swap with you. Looks like the truck is a salvage trd off-road and probably why he replaced the hood with the scoop. Maybe he’s not attached to the scoop hood nor cares if it goes back to the OEM trd off-road flat hood look!

Going to be completely honest, I’ve got a silver sport hood that if someone would want it, I’d be willing to swap out with some cash. I don’t really have a preference either way but as popular as they are, I’d part with mine to make a few extra bucks. Located in middle TN.
