While removing my airbox I discovered a broken plastic nipple on the back of the airbox with a small hose attached to it. I am not sure if I broke it when removing the airbox or if it was already broken. Anyways, the box is sealed so I cannot get inside to install a new hose barb. How critical is this hose, the one with blue tape, and how important is it that it is reattached to the box? A new airbox is $500 which is stupid and honestly I dont want to wait and find a used one.

Superglue or epoxy the nipple back onto the box.

And this is where the other end of the hose goes look past the last coil pack and you’ll see where it goes

Broke that off on my FJ as well. I used epoxy to reattach it. I think it's part of the fuel pressure regulator but could be wrong (likely am).

Just get a brass fitting with a barbed end and drill/tap/epoxy it into place.

You can reconnect as recommended above using JB weld or a threaded barb, or honestly just put a small filter on the end of the hose and plug the hole. It's used for your FPR to sense atmospheric pressure. Leaving it disconnected will not affect the FPR, but you will want some kind of filtration on the line to prevent foreign material from entering the diaphram.

Thanks for the help. I was able to fabricate a new aluminum nipple into the box with some jb weld.
