Next week, I'll be doing this to my truck for 7 days....but at Big Bend Ranch. Desert southwest paradise...and mucho pin stripes await. Silence, no friggn computer and zero people. Win, win, win for sure. Explore, hike, bike, eat, sleep...repeat.

Mind is in the gutter until then and not getting much done.

The color of amber led bulbs looks good. The performance of them, in the stock fog light, is extremely poor. The cheapest led alternative is the stock led replacements sold by Toyota for around $115 a pair. Can get clear or tinted. I had the high dollar Baja Designs amber sports in my 2016. They were not SAE compliant but were the brightest. Now the new SAE version is nice but still over $300.

Yall, today I made one helluva discovery on my truck. It was finally a decent day outside and decided to remove the black stickers from the door pillars. Upon removing the sticker from driver side rear, I found a 2 or 3 HUGE blotches of scratches under the black sticker.

At first, thought it was just glue that looked really weird still on there. After some Goo Gone and some light buffing with rubbing compound, it wasn't coming off.

    I'm absolutely mortified.

    20211007_113721.jpg

So now I'm gonna have to order some pillar covers from @TUFSKINZ.

I have absolutely no clue how those got there other than some fuckery at the factory. I know Toyota banks on most people not taking those off but damn.

So to anyone who is considering doing this, beware. You might uncover some nasty stuff such as I did.

    FML. :annoyed:

Looks like some worker drone tested his sand paper on your pillar. Yup, it works.

I wasn't really thinking about removing mine but after seeing yours I'm definitely not. That 100% is shit that happened at the factory. That sucks.....

My first question is did you buy this new. Looks to me like some moron was doing the same thing and did not know how to remove the decals.

I'm guessing the vinyl was removed and reapplied due to damage at some point. Maybe en route to the dealer
