Wondering if anyone else has had a chirp while truck is running. I believe it’s a throw out bearing but i want to make sure. The chirping goes away when i push in the clutch, Thank you for any information

Odds are good that you are correct on the Throwout Bearing.

It’s your throw out bearing. I had to replace mine I’m guessing around 90k miles. Spend the money while you’re in there and put in a good clutch disc too.

Replace the throwout bearing, replace the pilot bearing and Inspect the clutch assembly.

The majority of 2nd gen 6spds have some issue with TO bearing chirp during their life. Mine started around 50K. Approaching 140K now. There's many threads on it. The cliff notes are that it's a shit design and will pretty much keep happening. URD makes a "fix" that works for some, others not it seams. Others have rebuild the slave cylinder with an updated (longer) spring and it has improved it or eliminated it (for some). I performed this update and it got better, but it still does it. Still others have gone to a hydraulic TO bearing that is a different design, gets rid of the slave and fork. I can't tell if this has solved the issue based on all the discussion or not.

I just ignore it, will address when the clutch disc wears out. Provided there is no grinding, just a slight chirp, Suggest you do the same. Removing the transmission for just the chirp is a fools errand. Several people have done it only to have it come right back in very little time.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Mine has been doing it for 12 years and 160k. It’s like a little bird is riding with me
