The easiest way to troubleshoot is to remove the connection and see if the issue remains.

Finally got around to driving my truck for the first time since last weekend and with the engine running while idling I do get hyper flash. I have Factory LED headlights and meso stage 1 tails. I have not installed any kind of resistor yet. I have the new meso tail lights on pre order, so will this go away with them or will I need to buy them no matter what?

Hmm … I might try and go back to just bulbs in my tails and see if that solves it for now. I’d like to avoid buying something I’d only need for a couple of months

Yep, that's what I did. Not sure 8 ohms will not be an issue, but I guess we'll see in a few months.

Anyone have the part number for the white mirror clips that hold the cover on? I lost all 3 of mine inside the door somewhere...

Any recommendations on the best way to test the v5's, all functions, before tearing the mirrors apart? Seems to be an overabundance of dead LEDs.

If you have some spare wire and any sort of barrel terminal, ground the - and touch the red, white and turn with +12V from the battery.

My dad just tested his 3rd set. This last set, he tested by connecting everything up but resting the turn signals on his side mirror. Everything was fine up until he fully installed them. So make sure to check, and double check your LED's are good to go.

Strong work. Thank you for taking the time to explain a new method instead of just stating what you did and never explaining it out. Again thanks for making this forum what it was designed to do; the free flowing exchange of ideas and methods on similar products that we have purchased.

Definitely thanks as well from me to @JFanaselle for good ideas. One follow up request I might make would be to get some good length estimates for me. I think I could make a completely plug and play kit for anyone with puddles which would employ a T harness to inject parking and DRL into the puddle output, with +12V and dome negative coming from the original. Since Joe confirmed the wire color for me, I just need to know the length to use and I could offer a no cut option for puddle injector. I could even do this as an add on with white / red pigtail so people with MESO’s T tap could use it.

My thoughts on the parking light feed is that I would rather have it from the headlight than the A pillar T tap due to upstream wire size. The headlights are fed from 20 gauge OEM wire while the A pillar tap is 24 gauge I think, it’s pretty tiny as it serves only the overhead console. Granted the mirrors don’t draw significant power, nor the puddle switch, but I just figure if already taking time to pull DRL, may as well do parking light too so that they are both nice and beefy.

I could see sourcing +12v from the trailer brake controller or add a fuse too, leaving only the dome negative from the A pillar T tap / puddle switch. But I haven’t personally done any of that myself.

TLDR, later next week I may build a prototype plug and play injector for those of us with puddles and v5’s:

Headlight T tap (halogen or led) to
Red and white wire with pvc
    Through firewall
Ends in 2 position female JST connector
To custom Y harness with 2 position male JST and 4 position male JST for inputs from headlight tap and puddle a pillar tap to single JST 4 position female output. Plug that into the Y then your puddle leads.

It would be really nice if we had plug and play at the mirrors too but I don’t have supply on either of those connector styles.
