...^^^... WOW ... hard to believe ... nobody there ...

I moved a year ago to a small city that is very close to the largest mall in the SE.

The mall is large inside + has side streets + has a small city around it that is dedicated to the mall.

This mall is crazy busy on the weekends and medium busy during the week (with or without masks).

Our city schools have stayed open (with or without masks) and are diverse and are some of the best in the SE ... with all races but

Asians are almost becoming a majority in our neighborhood.

I moved 30 miles out of the big city to get a much better lifestyle at a cheaper land & house price + much better schools.

Our land & house prices are increasing twice as fast in this little city as those outside the city limits ... reason is the school system here.

The high school here is new, nicer and bigger than many colleges/universities and the elementary and middle schools are the same ... this is a little city of 15,000 people too ... but gets a ton of income from the businesses (mall too) in this area to pay for the schools.

Why go to the mall when the Amazon lady will bring it to my door tomorrow. Gas is expensive and I can flex in my driveway.

Haha I’m of the same mindset. On the other hand, my wife wants to see and handle everything before she feels ready to buy it.

Yeah I'm not sure why they haven't opened it yet. 90%+ of the businesses there are Korean owned. Some of the stores sell outside on the sidewalk during the day on racks. There's a similar (I think) Japanese variant building (only with an open roof in places) that is open right now. It just feels weird having it empty on a weekend.

Some day I hope to move further from the city, too.

Much of the chitchat of the past 24 hours has been the WTF. I mean, the sheer stupidity and ignorance (and outright lies - you know who you are) espoused by some is on par for what this thread is meant to illustrate.

CWA is communications workers of America. They aren’t dicks.

UAW had power and used it so badly that they motivated their meal ticket to leave town. They’re not a union so much as a loose association of assholes, like Mustang owners leaving a car show.

There was a mall near me that looked like this even a week before Christmas. A large portion of it was torn down and became part of a plaza. There's a couple big stores like Target, but some of the smaller stores are now empty too.

I enjoy driving and always looking for excuses to get out of the house. I'll drive an hour to microcenter if I can have my item now instead of waiting on Amazon, unless the price difference is huge.

No generators huh - makes sense when the next big one hits

if you saw the whole amount of sh*t that gets flushed out into the ocean down the LA river first big rain of each year you may not mind the ketchup packet thing. Maybe just a county ban, but I mean it says you can ask for them.

Good news, you don't have to wait that long!! If you live in areas with high winds they shut your power off to prevent fires.
