I haven't checked the relays but all other fuses under the hood tested fine. The AM1 and AM2 fuses look fine too.

This sounds like an issue with the immobilizer circuit.

What does the immobilizer lamp in the dash do when the key is inserted and not inserted.

I haven’t followed this closely, but have we ruled out the alarm system?

When the key isn't inserted it blinks every 2 seconds or so, when the key is inserted the light doesn't come on at all.

Called the support number for the viper alarm/remote start and the guy said it didn't sound like it would be an issue with the alarm but rather something with the immobilizer.

Going to try resetting the immobilizer/ECU. BTW the odometer does not show the mileage when the key is in the on position like it's supposed to.

Reset the ECU and I assume I did it correctly since the clock and radio reset (unless that's just because the battery was disconnected). I struggled to find the specific method for resetting it on a 2nd gen Tacoma so I tried disconnecting both terminals on the battery for 30 minutes and then afterwards, I took out the EFI fuse for about 20. Still not starting unless it's with the remote start (somehow). I don't know if the immobilizer has a separate reset but I'm leaning away from that being the issue since the light for it is behaving like it normally does

"To me this would point to an issue with the aftermarket remote start not sending 12vdc to the ignition run circuit.
I am going to check the wiring diagram and see if I can pinpoint which circuit on the DB3 sends dc to the ignition.
Replacing the ignition switch didn't fix the problem."

Remove the aftermarket remote start and if that doesn't save the issue I would replace the ignition switch and if that doesn't solve the issue I would disconnect your microphone set up all the way at its power source. If that doesn't solve your issue I would then closely reexamine all connections under the HVAC controls, Under the dash ect. If there was a plug somewhere that looks to be connected and is not fully connected I would look for that as well.

Took the truck into the Toyota dealership where my Brother in Law is a mechanic. He found the AM1 fuse was bad. I checked all other fuses with a VOM but a few along with the AM1 fuse would not come out to test. Looking at the fuse it looked good.
30 years in the low voltage industry you would think I would learn by now how to troubleshoot voltage issues lol. All is good and truck is running. Thank you all for your help!
