Never in the Fairmont line, too small a market and the chassis (unibody construction) on these wasn't strong enough.
The last Ranchero was built in 1979 on the (upper) mid size LTD II platform (Torino replacement).

I suggest you pick up your tin foil hat and move along. My children are grown and have great careers. If you actually read my post you would read nothing about being normal in 2023. I said supply chain would snap back by then leaving higher supply than demand. It will take several years after that for the slinky to quit stretching and contracting.

I spent quite a few years in both retail credit and mortgage banking. A couple of things: As per the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the dealer has to have your authorization to pull your credit report. Most likely one of the pieces of paper they shoved in front of you had that authorization in there somewhere. It's not uncommon for people not to notice when they are in the middle of dealing with a car salesperson. If you told them specifically not to run it and didn't sign an authorization, they violated the FRCA. Also, if the dealer's F&I person entered your loan request into their system to shop a loan for you, that is considered an application. If there is an application, the lender has to make a final decision on it with a certain amount of time. Either they fund the loan and establish an account, or the loan is not consummated for whatever reason. In order to properly close out the application they have to issue an Adverse Action Notice stating the reason the loan was not granted. If you decided not to proceed, you still get at Adverse Action Notice with a reason of "application withdrawn". The notice is basicallythe same regardless if the loan doesn't happen because they turn you down or you withdraw, it just has a different reason stated on it. That's most likely why you got the letter from Toyota Finance.

    A bunch..and no build thread!
I got a real nice 2018 Chevy Cruze with a brand new engine (replaced by Chevy) for sale. Great on gas, quick little factory turbo car. Comfortable, safe, etc etc. I'll be selling it for a little under what I paid for it in November of 2017. It's bad out there.

The open bed Fairmont was made in 81 and 82 and called the Durango. Ford cancelled them after 450 were ordered when they realized you could not see the taillights when the tailgate was down. It was a neat looking car otherwise. The stopped making Rancheros in 1979.

    Thank you!

If/when my wife gets her new Civic, I will test this the same way...walking in with a pre-approved LOAN prior to and NOT signing anything that requires a credit check. OR maybe...applying in my name only, then presenting another approval in my wife's name--Two different banks of course.

I guess it doesn't matter because they'll still cover themselves if I withdraw my individual loan.

I'm trying to beat their system...which works in their favor based on their application process.

Looks like Ford called it a Durago, and produced it in very low numbers. I can't recall if I've seen one in person, or only photos. I remember the distinctive taillights in the tailgate.

Minot is an okay place grew up there, base is 13 miles from town. Little different than when I grew up. Oil made it boom, it's slowed down a bit should be a little more reasonable. Good luck to him. Expect some cold and snow. That 13 miles was a source of entertainment as drivers from down south would end up in the ditch in a snow storm 40yrs ago counted 72 one night.

What about the cutesy Ford Maverick? Can you wait to look at those? They look cheap and gets 40mpg, supposedly!
Ebikes are a great way to get around town. I haven’t bought one yet, but I ride normal bikes to go anywhere under five miles away, just like when I was a kid. It’s the best.
