Fumoto Fact(s) You Might Not Know

Kind of need a tool for that... however not relevant that issue is.

 

Let me ask the same question, why are you creating points of failure in your setup?
Oil filter reroute has at least 3, x3 more likely to fail vs oem.
Your valve, 2x likely to fail. Which was proven.
I blew O ring 6 months after the oil change on my other car. Even with my oem setup, I had a failure.

 

Why yes, yes I am. At least with the oem plug someone would have to use a tool to remove it... with the fumoto all it take is one finger. I'm curious about you being so defensive... do you own stock in or work for this company?

 

I’m using events that you perform each change. The filter relocation is a whole other discussion but if your compelled to pull it in- pull it in. The failure modes I’ve pointed out have a higher degree of failure because it requires an action every time. A one-time install isn’t quite the same but a fail on it’s own but I thought we we talking about the valve. Hmmmm

 

Yep. Requires a tool but at the age of 60 I can take your plug off fairly easily and quickly.

 

Your example is anecdotal.

 

I think his point was that you wouldn't need anything to do this with a Fumoto. But then again, who the hell is looking under cars and saying "oh, this guy has a Fumoto valve! Better drain the oil!" Or any car for that matter.

 

Not a stock owner or an employee. I guess the individual who will crawl under my truck to open the Fumoto valve will likely get discouraged crawling under so many trucks until he finds one with the valve. God help us with your examples.

 

Oh great....now I'll be looking for puddles of oil under my new truck!

Having a magnetic drain plug is another plus…. It may or may not be enough to worry about, but they sure do collect a lot of magnetic iron grit from the oil pan.

 

I think the valve is a bad idea, seems failures can happen easier with their setup.

However, everyone does their own thing. The world would suck if everyone's Tacoma was the same.

Why are you even in this thread? Do you peruse other threads that you have no interest in just to go in and troll?

I have stated twice in this thread I posted to make those who might already use this valve to be aware of what happened to me. Its also for those who don’t even know they exist or those who might be considering getting one.

Why are you here? What value are you actually adding?

Of course you have all the right to weigh-in but I’m genuinely curious why someone will spend so much time involved in trying to change our minds when they have ZERO chance of using ANY of the information provided. Just trying to prove someone is smarter than another? Seems like someone with low self esteem and no friends.

Life is more fulfilling through helping others. Try it. It just may change your life. I’m praying for you and I am being extremely sincere here.

 

What about high temperature and pressure?
Do you count these factors?

I like this… but what are the odds of something going wrong in the connections between the original filter location and this spot? I’m assuming there’s 3-4’ of tubing going each direction. Any chance of popped connections etc.?

I do miss the setup on my FJ.

Nothing is risk free. You need to ensure to install it correctly and use quality components. For me, I LOVE the mod.

 

All in fun, but this is the first Tacoma I’ve seen on dialysis.

 

Been there, done that. Texas heat and half an acre whipped my ass and I gave up after two seasons. But it did look nice and tight during that timeframe.
