Am I correct ( or not ) that there is such a thing?

Something that could be used in place of a standard oil filter for say the SR5.

Supposed to be 'better' of sorts - or is it like an entire kit or just a single part.

I would stick with the OEM Toyota Oil Filter Cartridge, it is more than sufficient.

I did have K&N oil filter on my previous truck for about 7 years, engine ran beautiful. Did it make a difference? Probably not.

K&N oiled filter, or K&N oil filter? Very different things.

TRD's aren't special, they are just shocks and lipstick for the most part.

I’m the last 20 or so years, definitely. Sounds cool though, haha.

I should’ve been more clear, I used a new K&N oil filter every oil change.

I was wondering which is why I thought you must have meant oiled filter in your post.

    All good.

I’m pretty OCD with the maintenance on my vehicles, I always follow severe use schedule. Been working great for me.

If you use premium gas, it actually cleans the oil filter as you drive.

The TRD oil filter added 50hp to my rig; dyno tested.

So, there is an animal referred to as the 'TRD Oil Filter' ... and it can be applied to non-TRD's.. ie: an SR5 ...

There is such a product and it is better made than the stock paper oil filter. cca6993d-b676-43d1-b13a-c7f8914b12e4_1.3090756fd1aa94e54188c911a08312f8.jpg s-l400.jpg

As I suspected. When I took the truck to the dealer for service, expecting but not getting an oil change ( very not happy about that ) I told
the dude I wanted and would pay for the TRD Filter. He said there was no such thing... Raising hell about not getting the oil change got me no place.

I have the standard Toyota Care which entitles me to 2 oil changes yada yada yada and I wanted one at 5,000 miles. Now if I want to use one of those
up at 200 miles and I want to use the other one up at 500 miles this should be my call.... they flat refused to change the oil.

I paid FULL PRICE for this thing and that includes my 2 changes within 2 years or 25,000 miles....

Interesting, after looking at those pics, I wonder if the stock YZZA1 has the same diffusion holes in it (in the clear epoxy cylinder in the middle). So the contaminates don't aggregate at the bottom.

Just get stock one(about 7bucks at Walmart) .. you are going to switch it out your next oil change anyways..
