My sensors didn't throw any error codes and work pretty well. I do need to go back and readjust my driver side BSM sensor because it intermittently triggers, but it should be an easy fix.

Hey c4! I got a chub looking through this thread and then see you don’t offer the swing arm on this bumper.

When will you have it again? I want BSM support, a removable swing arm and a table. This was checking all the boxes right up until I went to your site to order!!

Love your lo-pro btw. Installed it this weekend and it looks sharp!

I noticed the BSM bumper is not on your website any more. Is it still available to order?

I called them a few weeks go and they said BSM is not supported at this time (only parking sensors). They also said they are working towards a solution so I think all these manufacturers will roll something out in the coming years (didn't say when). From what I've heard, BSM conflict with all metal contact and need plastic to work properly.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, that seems settled by the manufacturer who was the only one to support BSM at one point, but does anyone regret losing the BSM feature for the protection and utility of their expensive, aftermarket bumper?

I’ve used my mirrors for decades, but have grown to appreciate this additional level of safety, especially when backing out of parking spaces, or being overtaken by much faster moving vehicles.

Is it likely that armor manufacturers will overcome the technical and liability challenges, and support this in the future?

Is it possible to retrofit some other sensors, say from the Ford taillights to have a functioning BSM and aftermarket bumper?

My BSM system started acting up, intermittently beeping and showing "Check BSM System" on the dash. Sometimes this beep happened every few minutes, sometimes a couple of times a second in rapid succession. Felt like a loose wire or a short or something, and I was suspicious of the connector going into the sensor, but couldn't diagnose it at the time. I disconnected the BSM harness, and drove another few thousand miles in peace and quiet, then finally dropped the bumper to check it out.

Several trips worth of mud and sand were sitting up against the bottom of the sensor (washed periodically, but definitely not often enough) and also worked into the space between the sensor and the plastic panel. The (aluminum?) backing plate on the sensor was corroded at the bottom, and the bottom tab snapped off of the backing plate on both sides. The connector looked fine and dry on both sides.

@C4 Fabrication , I know you stopped making this bumper, but if you start again, a few suggestions:
    • Mount the plastic panel so it can be removed for cleaning without dropping the bumper
    • Stronger captive nuts - the lower ones on both sides seized up and broke off
    • The bumper has enough interior structure, posts, angles, and small cavities to be hard to clean (and paint) but it's open enough to pick up lots of crud kicked up from the wheels.
    • On the plus side, the bumper worked great for 2 years; it was super solid and saved the truck from many rocks, and until now, the BSM system had worked perfectly.
I guess I should have hosed this out more often, and perhaps rigged up some sort of liners or flaps to deflect crud from being kicked up into the corners.

Really sad to see there's still no bumper available on the market with BSM support :(
