Finally I land on this great thread on OEM LEDs
Maybe it's been mentioned before, up here in Canada just the Ltd and Pro are the lucky trim levels to receive these beauty Heads. Not equipped nor a option to get them on my Dec delivery of my 22 Sport Premium LB. What's the best made harnesses and best source for the non pro versions (Ltd I guess) OEM LED head, tails, and fogs even cargo I think lights. I am really disappointed that my 22 will have the same boring lights as my 17 Sport Premium lights has. Other than the grill and rims people are going to ask me if a painted my truck. Help this friendly Canadian Taco lover out my great TW members. Cheers Al

Since it's getting dark early in the morning I have been using my LED headlights more. I found that one is higher then the other. I thought they were both even after installing, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Anyone know off the top of their head... right or left on the 8mm nut move the aiming beam up or down?

The driver side has a notch to avoid glare to oncoming vehicles. Check it out on a wall at night sometime.

aiming instructions at Daniel stern’s website. IIRC it’s 4” drop at 25’

Hey Dave looking to hunt down blacked out LEDs fogs, I don't know the part number yet. Will I also need a harness brackets or different surround? I believe they are from a Ltd, I will be installing them on a 22 sport premium.

    Hey Dave!
    Woah, I didn't know that!

Maybe that is what I see, and the lights are actually even out of the box.
When i tried to aim them next to the wall when I first got them they looked dead on. I notice the passenger side headlight looked to be a little higher beam from further away or when I am driving at night. I don't know how I can capture it on camera to show everyone..

But that leads me to think maybe it is just that notch you speak of. It makes sense, since I have had the lights I have not been flashed once, FYI.

    These are the OEM LED.

@Tacospike I will try the Phillips head if I can get it behind the headlight on the passenger side. I saw on page 40 of this thread they discussed this issue.

I am hoping maybe I don't need to re adjust and it's just the notch.

Anyone have some pictures of the notch beam so I can compare??

    Thanks all.

You can get to both sides easily from the top.

    Hey Dave,

I have attached the photo with a spot highlighted, can you confirm this is the notch you are showing for the driver side.
Also is that your photo? If so how far away from the wall are you?

I will try to get a photo similar and show my beam. I think mine might be a little bit more drastic cut out.

Yes it's my photo from my truck. Yes that's the notch I am referring to.

I am not sure exactly how far away I was at this point. I'm also not sure I was on level ground. So I'm not sure I'd put much of any concrete value on the height above the ground if that's what you're looking for.

The passenger side hot spot seems to be to the right of the red rectangle.

You might also want to review crashnburn80's review of this headlight in the 3rd gen lighting thread but a quick skim there seems to show that he mostly uses the passenger side?

It's more noticeable in person, and I also don't have a nice phone or any good photography skills. Find any sort of dark spot with a vertical wall that you can approach roughly head-on.

For actual alignment, you need as perfect a spot as you can get. It's very difficult to find one that is both level and has a vertical wall with no curb. The spot I used was slightly sloped and therefore my alignment is a bit TBD. I'm planning to redo once I get my shocks in. I probably should already have redone it after the shell went on.

I notice the notch and at first thought the driver light was just low. Up against a wall they are both level. You can see it against the fence in the pic below and yes my truck is leaning right because of the curve of the street.1BAD7802-22F1-40CA-97E3-49721CFFF5F8.jpg

Woah, that is a good example, and looks similar to mine.
I am really surprised more people in this thread don't bring up this topic..
@daveeasa where did you find out or read about this feature?

I will try and get a photo soon to contribute.

All headlights should be leveled like this. This is intentional to cause less glare for oncoming drivers.

The downside of headlights with a sharp cutoff is that proper aiming is even more critical. If one (or more) of your headlights are aimed too high, oncoming drivers get an eye full of light. Even when properly aimed, if you hit a significant bump in the road while somebody's coming at you, they may think you've flashed them - which of course you have not. It's hard to think back to the good old days of "sealed beam" lighting and think of how poor the light really was and how much was wasted.
