    I'm confused to, dont worry.

    :bananadead:

I was scared of anything with a hook on the end when I bought my winch endy bit. Things you dont know when you start :cookiemonster:

Got the flatlink which I am happy with, but it does require 1 more thing to connect to everything.

As I said, everything changes in -20C.......I snow wheel for like 5 months a year.

Where did you get the idea I DGAF about soft shackles? I think you've seriously misunderstood anything I've posted on the subject. They have advantages and disadvantages, just like synth and steel winch lines. They both have their place. A couple soft shackles are definitely on my short list the next time I buy some kit.

You actually don't even need a flat link in the first place. A lot of ropes out there (like those posted previously in this thread) you can just hook your soft shackle directly to the loop in the end of the rope, so there's no real need for a $140 piece of metal to go in between the rope and the soft shackle, no matter how brightly anodized it is.

But I stand by my position that having a soft shackle (or any shackle) permanently attached to your rope is simply a bad idea, no matter what the cost. The problem is serviceability. If you ruin your shackle (but that never happens, right?), you basically ruin the entire rope. It's why every other rope (or steel cable) out there simply has a loop at the end to attach your hook or whatever you want.

As many others in this thread have pointed out, this is an overly expensive solution to a problem that doesn't really exist (even ignoring the tree saver thing). If you're worried about forgetting your shackle, just hook it to your winch line like everyone else does.

As I said earlier, I think this would be a great solution for someone who races KOH, or does timed rock crawling comps, that sort of stuff, because obviously it does save some time, but a little bit of time is about all it seems to save.

I know you guys want this to burn like a dumpster at peaceful protest :bananadead:

So lets see if it does

Finally got an update from Matt, after I sent him an email saying give us a freaking update already! So he did lol.

Looks like the end of the rope will be replaceable. So that is a great upgrade already!

    It has arrived. :bananadance:

Top quality, but I am not sure the price justifies it. Will have to wait and see. I am going to wait until my current line gets a problem before I replace it.

I am just some recovery newb who likes new innovative things.

    This absolute professional recovery OG, spools his 2nd Freedom winch line onto a 2nd recovery vehicle and says;

Matt 'I like it so much, I wont go back.'

Gotta be something to that id think.

he’s also buddy’s with bleepinjeep so I’m sure he doesn’t pay full price, Wouldn't surprise me if he gets them for free.

Also just looked at the retail price. Holy crap!
