Ok so typically I hate the way mud flaps look but...

I frequent a dirt/gravel road which makes a musical sound of rocks hitting my undercarriage. Also with winter coming I thought it may add some protection from salty road wash. (I did apply wool wax)

I have a cement OR, I am thinking of doing the rear flaps with the Logo and 4wd and the front flaps just logo or just 4wd. All 4 matching just logo would probably look good too.

What do you guys think would look good/ not "too much"? (Photos are from TuffSkinz)

I suggest that whatever mud flaps you choose, that they be flexible.
    I'm happy with the RekGen's I installed.A3F385E9-7843-4862-A4FB-DF1830EC32CD_1_201_a.jpg

They're a good idea. Drivers behind you who also care about their vehicles will thank you (rhetorical, we're lookin at you Mr. lifted F250 with 4in "poke", low profile 35s, and no mud flaps! lol)

Those 4WD without the stripes are nice, a nod to the past without trying to re-live it.

No logo is clean and elegant. Assuming a mud flap can be elegant.

I have a set of 4 WeatherTechs. They are not flexible, but the fit is excellent and install is just minutes per wheel.

I appreciate the suggestions of alternate brands, I have already decided to go with the Tuffskinz they are half the price of the Rekgens and flexible.

I am really asking about the pattern scheme to avoid having a boring plastic protrusion hanging without getting gaudy.

Let's be realistic for a minute... the only one who cares about how a -lol- mudflap looks on your truck is you. Yet you ask complete strangers to help you on a decision that only you can decide. See a disconnect here?

I have the tufskinz you have mentioned above, but on my 2nd gen. I could not be happier with them, they are the perfect level of flexible (I live in CO and frequent very rocky trails) and are the perfect length. Mine have the 4WD logo in white (only option for 2nd gen for some reason). I would recommend just the 4WD logo on rears only with no stripes, I like how they resemble the mud flaps from the older 1st gens.

Don’t tailgate people. Problem solved. Worry more about dump trucks carrying gravel on the interstate.

I was about 200ft back from my buddy in his 4runner when I got a nasty rock chip in my windshield. Space doesn't always help, if there are not mudflaps forcing rocks down into the ground, they can and will fly straight at the cars behind. Wind currents etc can carry them in ways you wouldn't expect.

Have you seen the video of the motorcyclist that hit a floating mat that fell off the back of some d00ds boat?

My buddy hit a dove direct on his sternum at 55 mph on his motorcycle. Nine months off work. Sternum cracked in several places. Shit happens.

Tiff skins are not flexible, they will bend but they are far from flexible.

    Good to know, thank you.

I am going to give them a try since they are inexpensive and anytime I go off-road I can just pop em off.

    Any suggestions on flexible flaps?

I was never a fan of the 4WD designations. I mean why. The stripes I like ok. The Rekgen logo is good too.

I have the Rekgen in white. Since the truck is white it looks good ( to me ) .. and that's all that matters right.
I thought about red to add a splash of color but I'm happy with the white.... and I'm happy they are a bit more flexible
    than the stock ones.

For 'color' I added this to the hitch - keeps the receiver cleaner and looks good too. From Etrailer and they have a ton of designs.

I think the Rekgen are flexible. I Bought a set of tuff skins and when I got them I was pretty disappointed with how stiff they were.
