I don’t know man. I know guys that had Japanese Toyota’s that had a lot of issues and I know guys that had Texas or Mexico made Toyota’s and they were stellar.

@Lt. Dangle Might have a story for you.:)

Yeah, my FJ fell into the "most" part of that comment lol.

My Mexican Tacoma and Japanese FJ are different quality wise, just not what one would expect.

They all use the Toyota Production System, which obviously started in Japan. That alone empowers anyone on the line to stop the whole thing if they spot something wrong, rather than ignore it.
Not being throttled by the UAW might have an impact as well. Hence why Toyota and all the other "foreign" makes staying out of Detroit..

I think TOYOTA uses better overall quality components, and more of them than any other, followed by good assembly practices, where others such as GM's infamous cheap ignition switch caused thousands of gremlins service issues, followed by serious consequences are careless.
However, that is not to say TOYOTA is immune to cost cutting, just not as blatant or as stupid as getting cheap on a vital component like an ignition switch. Or at least I would hope not.
