The Expanse was a good space opera type if you haven't read it, I highly recommend it.
Final book comes out in November and there's a TV show as well.

 

I've been wanting to read that myself. Many people couldn't make it out the other side of a set of tragedies like that. Riding is cathartic though. I guess he was able to re-orient himself, recognize the purpose in his life, and continue on.

 

One thing I like, is some of the stories are set in So Cal in areas I am familiar with. One story, I can't recall which one at the moment, I could visualize exactly the place Koontz was writing about, as it is along the 330 leaving Big Bear.

I was thinking about what you said regarding magazines. My wife brings Motortrend and Hot Rod home (the day they come because of COVID) from her office. I can read Hot Rod in about 30 minutes and Motortrend in about 40. The writing is so light and shallow, there is little there. I could write a more extensive article with better grammar and syntax on my lunch hour. Well... at least there are still the pictures look at.

Recently read “The things they carried” by Tim O’Brien. Vietnam War Historical Fiction I guess you would call it. Really gave me a good understanding of the Male Perspective overall of men of that era. Very different than most men today.

 

Finished the last book of Emerillia Series. Now reading the last book of the New Era Online series since it came out while I was reading Emerillia.

We all like what we like I have enjoyed all the books by these Authors I have read.

Perfectly reasonable.

Someone within your circle of friends might have one. If you were nearby Id let you demo one of mine. (mine is an ancient 2nd or 3rd gen, the fiance's is one of the newer waterproof versions.) They're not for everyone, but I'm a fan. Back in the days when I had to cross the Atlantic on business, it was a lifesaver.

 

That is the downside having worked all over the USA on Mill Wright Jobs my close friends are scattered all over the country.

Then so many would be challenged to be able to read a work order.

One of the best books I have read on Vietnam.

 

As a 35 year old not particularly interested in history, it was eye opening. And probably because my knowledge of the Vietnam War is largely based on Forrest Gump.
