I actually had to gut the thing and add my own drivers and inverters to get the LCD to work. It was hooked up to a proprietary controller.

People are paying that much without SAS for a clean factory, non-dented truck. I don't think it's unreasonable

If that thing is "rusty" my car is literally just rolling tetanus. I haven't seen a first gen body or frame that clean in years around here

It’s a nice NEC panel with LVDS. I had trouble sourcing a driver and inverter for it since the panel was only manufactured for industrial equipment (like airplanes).

I just got a whole standalone system with a new panel and a new driver + inverter. Issue is it doesn’t pass through audio, and it’s missing the sound logic on the board itself. So I’m going to have to think of something creative to extract audio from HDMI.

Sounds like a cool little project.
HDMI audio DAC/splitter boards shouldn't be hard to find

Yep! Looks like that’s going to be the plan. Some kind of HDMI audio extractor.

Yes, you should re-setup gears when replacing the open carrier with a locker that replaces the whole carrier like an ARB/Detroit. Some people find that the locker is built close enough to avoid re-setup of the gears but I wouldn't treat it as a rule of thumb.

When you replace the spider gears with a lunchbox locker you do not need to re-set anything

@BartMaster1234 is going to build a flight sim room that’s just a passenger experience. Turbulence and a bag of pretzels included.

And if you pay more, your flight attendant @BartMaster1234, will help you join the sim mile high club.
