Great time to sell assets, but you better not be in the need to purchase if you do sell.

Doesn't matter if it's a house, car, or what, you can definitely get some good value. But defeats the purpose if you have to immediately replace it.

7,000 years later an archeological dig finds you and speculates that maybe this was some kind of primitive sapient king buried in his chariot, unlike all the other yobs that went in boxes.

    Bone stock. Pls mod me.
Anyone had a TRD lift kit installed on their 3rd gen locally? Wondering what the various dealerships are charging out the door. Big Two won't sell it without a bunch of BS extras and wants $5200 out the door for the package, so yeah fuck that.

What’s making you want TRD versus kings, icon, fox or ADS? Most these other brands will outperform the trd and rebuildabke/better etc. You can get a full set of leaf springs, uca, and front and rear shocks for less then that quote. Install wise, there are plenty of local lift shops that will install, orw just opened there newer shop down in Mesa and have already run specials of free installs on all lifts purchased etc, maybe reach out to them or see what they are offering.

    X2 on this.

I considered the TRD lift until I realized that it is just bilstein 5100s with blocks in the rear.

You can get the same bilstein 5100s (sans TRD label) and an add a leaf for a lot less,
Bilsteins ran me about $500, depending on the AAL, maybe $200

You can do the rear shocks and add a leaf in your driveway with a jack and basic tools in less than two hours.
Front you can do yourself, youll just need a coil spring compressor

Hes probably talking about the TRD Pro Fox setup. Also, you do not need a spring compressor. Just leave the strut top bolts tight, leave the upper control arm attached to the spindle, put a jack under the lower control arm, undo the lower ball joint and lower the jack. Voila you can change your junk with no spring compressor. Works for installing spring/shock combos or installing coilovers.

I figured he was talking about the new TRD kit dealers have available.

    https://www.motorbiscuit.com/3-reasons-shouldnt-buy-trd-lift-kit-toyota-tacoma/

Really, though, the only reason I'd even consider that kit is if I was leasing the truck and it was installed before I took ownership, since the warranty changes if you put it on after.

I’ve been using this method for years. Way safer than a spring compressor and once you do it, you realize there is no where for the spring to go if it wanted to.

Yup, I mean it’s a couple hours job tops, and that’s more beer breaks then anything. Longest part is it the uca are getting changed out, those damn bolts can be a pain in the ass.

After this summer was tired of my cup holders getting hot as hell. So did a wrap of them with some of that reflective insulation. Just have a go for either a long drive to test or wait now till summer. Ha

Good idea. Idk why I never thought of that. I've always hated how it got our drinks so hot too.

Its built with typical Marine fashion using Gorilla tape. But everything goes back together and should be functional.

Now that the weather has broken Im starting to think about camping down south again. Anybody have any info about cool spots along the Gila or the San Pedro or any other water down that way?

There was a spot along the AZT that I camped out with @Seabass and @OnePuttBlunder that was awesome. Matt might remember it better than I will. Had a creek running along the road/trail.

Gila, Hassayampa, and Verde have good spots along them. Hassayampa is probably our favorite, but a drive for us so we dont get out that way as often as we'd like. It wouldnt be too bad for you coming from the North...

Is the Hassayampa even flowing this time of year?
