Mounting Kenwood TM-710GA

I know there is a radio thread around here somewhere, but I'll be damned if my searches can find it again.

I'm plopping in a TM-710GA 2m/70cm radio in the truck. The 710's have a remote transceiver that can be split off from the mic and control head -- those can go elsewhere.

Some people put the transceiver under the passenger seat. I'm not totally adverse to doing that, but oof... not the most serviceable.

Been mocking up install locations, and passenger side transmission tunnel is kinda looking better. Anyone with advice on their results (wherever)?

 

This is what I did. Works perfect and serviceable.

 

i run a 710 in my 18 OR also. mounted mine behind drivers rear seat. had 2 pull pannel off to route coax out air vent behind pannel. ordered extension kit. really love the radio & truck 2. KC5NNK....nowhere near kansas
