What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Had new-to-me tires put on. I believe I picked These up from a local member about three years ago. They improve the look of the truck a lot.

 

What kind of lift numbers did you get? I am trying to get away from my dakars as well...

I didn’t get any numbers specifically but I was actually going for less lift. I had the heavy duty Dakar’s which had it up higher than my liking. After removing most of the stuff in my bed and switching to a soft topper I didn’t need the higher spring rates. They also include an extra leaf to add in if you wanted in two different configurations for higher spring rate/more lift. Here’s how it sits on the lowest prior to settling if that helps:

Top of axle tube to the bottom of the frame rail is easiest and most accurate to measure lift. Stock is 8.25”

 

Been working on this thing on and off for 8 weeks now as I waited on parts. Just about finished with the tundra steering rack install with mega beefy tie rods. She’s at least drivable again.

 

I ended up with over 4 inches of lift with the dakars new, about 3.5

Im just trying to get 3+ of lift in the rear as plush as possible. I haul air.

 

I am not near 3+ right now with it on option 1 but it may be possible with the other options which you can switch to. @EatSleepTacos has it configured to option 2.

 

Even then I’m only at 1.75” with my current setup. Before I was at 1.25” at option 1.

 

Started parting it out, bought a Tundra to replace it.

Spent many hours with my Toyota today. I was in the garage from about 9a.m - 3p.m doing f&r diff fluid change, transfer case fluid change, transmission fluid change, oil change, greasing zerks, rotating tires and finally the spark plugs. Then I spent about 3 hours in the driver's seat exploring!

 

Test mounted the oztent 270 foxwing. Need to switch around the rtt to open to driver sider for the annex.

 

So I was browsing FB market and saw this which leads me to ask. Really ?

Anyone have any experience with Badlands Bumpers? I have been searching for a rear tube bumper and theirs seems sweet. Completely customizable.

 

Rattle canned the engine cover and wiped down some stuff in the engine bay ! Still cleaning

 

Every 30k for plugs . I went 60 k before I changed mine .

 

It’s ridiculous

 

I need your cleaning skills... Drive west for a bit and get off of those salted roads!

 

I need to get in that engine bay deeper yet !
