I need to get new TPMs in my truck tires. When I purchased new wheels I never told them to install them
My question does the brand matter? My mechanic is very good at what he does. Just thought I would mention this question. My reasoning is TPMs are all alike. I have them on my steel wheels from the factory that are my snow tires. I just wish this feature could be bypassed.

You can buy a used set of oem on ebay, i got a set for my 2020 sport and no problems. I program it myself because i have the tool.

Most likely not other than an aftermarket sensor should cost less than buying the sensors from Toyota. As long as the aftermarket sensors work when installed the worst case scenario could be a slightly shorter battery life, let me stress I said could be.

The post above suggesting purchasing a set of OEM sensors on ebay removed from say a 2020-2021 truck might be the best compromise, OEM sensors at aftermarket prices.
