tonneau cover

I broke the hinges on the oem trifold on my 2017 hard tonneau and need a replacement. the toyota parts guy quoted $1100+, and told me that the factory installed oem has a different mounting system that the accessory oem.
that Toyota sells. can anybody confirm? No way that I’ll pay that kind of money, but I need to know if there are differences if I go to the used market.

 

If you are referring to the hinge end caps they can be found for less than 20 each

After market covers come with their own mounting systems. If you buy a completely new OEM cover, it will also come with the hardware. Either way, you would be able to remove the old and start from scratch. Or just pull the old hardware that is broken and replace that.

 

thanks, @Tetrahedron77 - i broke the hinges, not the endcap. do you have a link to the parts list that you sent? i found a used cover, but one of the hinges has a buckled weatherstrip that leaks, so i want to look into a replacement wearherstrip.

 

Here you go man. I believe you have to buy the entire sub assembly - they do not appear to sell hinge parts separate.

To answer your question about a link to parts list. I found those part numbers off of 3 different Toyota dealerships and EBay. In regards to weather stripping, I did not find anywhere in my research where they sell that individually.

 

i found an oem trifold from a 2021. the seller removed it from his truck and installed it on mine. it fit like a glove. neither of us need the installation rackets, so I left it with him. if anybody is interested in it, message me and Ill try to get you in touch with him. i think that he might also be interested in selling his notched bed rails that go with it.
