I ordered a set of Continental Terrain contact HT for the winter setup, didn't need full winter tires.

They came in today and one of the tires sidewall is inverted, bulging outward, never seen this before. Sent out an email with pictures to Online tires but haven't heard back yet.

    Is this tire defective?20211015_160611.jpg

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Once it’s on the rim it’ll be fine.. maybe. Does it roll straight or wobble?

It looks like maybe it's already been aired up but doesn't show signs of being mounted. Haven't rolled it yet and plan on taken it by a tire shop tomorrow and see what they say. May be fine but I've never seen a new tire like this.

Continental had a recall for 100,000 tires for overcured sidewall.
    I'd be wary.

I don't think it's the issue, I had the same issue last year with new Michelin tires. Two of the tires had the same look but after installation everything was fine.

My local Discount Tire looked at the tire and said all was fine, just the way the tire was stored. Had them mount the tires on the Off Road wheels but haven't put them on the truck yet. I looked up the recall and couldn't find any Terraincontact HT on the list. Tires were manufactured fairly recently, July 2021.
