I can't say I know any of their names but yeah. One time I had left them a 3 star review after their service and they called me asking how they could make it right. They've been good at explaining everything as well, including questions not directly related to the work I'm having done.

 

Is Friendly Toyota still over there in GR? I worked there in college as a porter and rust proofer. Don't ask how long ago that was.

 

I got it taken care of today by a mobile mechanic. It was a wheel bearing issue though.

 

Never been to that one, I’m just ne of gr, but the Kool parts guys are legit if you diy and have a parts list with numbers and internet pricing.

 

Where was it located? The only ones I'm aware of are Kool Toyota and Toyota of Grand Rapids. Perhaps it is one of these.

Anyone recommend an overnight spot in Huron forest? Will be looking for an overnight halt Sunday night.

 

That area stretches all the way across nothern lower Michigan. Can you be more specific?

 

Ah - didn't know it went that far east.

Honestly - no. I'm up or anywhere in the forest. I can move this route anywhere really.

 

I would suggest the Grayling area.

It's along the I-75 corridor. East or west of Grayling has lots of primitive camping areas. Anywhere on US-72 has lots.

If you want something nicer but different, try out Gates Au Sable lodge. Fly fishing is winding down, but the lodge is still nice.

 

Yeah the Huron-Manistee Forest in a combined forest, but your route looks like you'll be on the east side of Michigan which technically IS the Huron, but are you looking for primitive camping or more features? and how far up 23 you want to drive?

I spend a lot of time fishing the Au Sable near Grayling, so I know that area very well and do a bunch of fly fishing on the Black River near Onaway as well.

 

Abort mission. Timing worked differently and I booted through the entire lower mitten today. Crossed over to UP and kipped up right at sundown basically.

Now I have more time to explore tomorrow Yee haw! Thanks for the guidances though.
