Anyone have experience with 265’s that run true to size or a little bigger? I’ve heard of the Cooper St Maxx being like this, wanted to see if there are any others.

    4 run, 2 don't
Cooper's, at least the ST Maxx, are slightly smaller.

Their 33" tire, 255/85/16 comes in at 32.8"

Whereas a Toyo M/T in the same size, actually measures at 33.5"

Pretty common knowledge on a lot of forums if you do a quick search.

But you are referencing Skinny 33's to his non skinny tire.

You are a Sport so are you looking at 265/65/17 that come stock or are you going up a size to 265/70/17? Comparing a Skinny 33 tire will not give you the same numbers as a normal width tire. I have Skinny's on at 255/75/17 Cooper Pro's and they come in at 31.9 also.

Cooper ST/MAXX in 265/70/17 runs in at 31.9
BF Goodrich 265/70/17 runs in at 31.6
GOODYEAR DuraTrac in 265/70/17 runs in at 31.7

I am going with 265/75/16. I was thinking about the Kenda Klever at2, but I’m not sure how the size of those compare to others.

Ah sorry I saw Sport and thought 17's. Are you worried about fitment and rubbing?

Yeah I have the stock 17’s but I like the look of 16’s better so I’m switching over. Not too worried about rubbing, I’ll be doing a 2.5 in lift with it.

I think BFGoodrich runs slightly larger

Just go on Tirerack.com and shop by tire size of 265/75/16 and below each tire will have the specs. Choose which one you like best.

Tiresize.com is a great one, covers most all tires and specs.

265s of any brand will fit with zero issues so long as you have a good alignment. Lift has nothing to do with fitting tires. The suspension still moves up and down.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I really don’t think the 1/10s of an inch will make much difference overall. Some mid tires can run a bit larger for the size (I suspect due to tread depth/lug size), but if you are say comparing different 265/70/17 tires, the difference between 31.5” and 31.8” is not going to make much difference. Maybe if the tread depth is a bit deeper on one, you may get more miles out of it but that’s about it IMO.

I think you are best served by selecting a tire who’s tread pattern and construction best suits your needs in a given size.

I went with the 265/70/17 wildpeak at3w at 31.9”. Mounted on the truck it’s not that tall, and after 30k it’s even shorter lol. But it’s a great tire for my needs. I may try the 255/80 in the same variety next.
