Well it tracked straight so thats a win. New curt coupler is a huge improvement to the one that came with it. Before i had to pry the damn thing loose off the ball even when new.

Also got the first hole widened so the jack will fit. Just need to drill the next one right under it. Then paint everything.

Nice cup walking. I tried that on a narrowed 9" axle tube once, and failed horribly. LOL. Nice work Sir.

3F924B5A-3158-4267-86CD-2DECBEE0042C.jpg By the time I had it done the old Systematics was dialed in pretty well and I remembered how to MIG weld decently. Ten times as strong as the farmer welded contraption he had on the truck.

If he decides to keep the truck and gets a serious trailer we’ll be adding a couple of cross braces. Truck is set up for a gooseneck ball too for the real loads. Now he can haul the mower trailer and we won’t have to worry about the hitch ripping off the bed.
( Yes, the ball is upside down. He was getting ready to wrench it off and reposition it. )

Needed to build a more " factory" looking battery box for this zero turn mower.

Previous owner did a decent job, but I just couldn't live with it.PXL_20211018_202216275.jpg

New box needs to be mounted in this area. You can see where the original box broke off the frame.PXL_20211018_190324700.jpg

Ok the new one is not built yet?

I was looking for the after picture .

Why would you not paint a battery box after all you have all winter.

I had some 3/16" plate lying around. Quickly cut it to rough shape with the plasma cutter.

Haven’t burned some metal in a minute. Super rusty.

But I’ll take it for lying on my back under the truck between the drive shaft and frame. I was more annoyed with the fact that I wasn’t close enough to see I was going off course.

Anyone care to sell me on a Tig welder and why?

You’d think research and purchase would be more straight forward.

    I don’t care if it’s the $3,500 Miller, $850 PrimeWeld, or whatever other brand/model.

What I want to do I buy once, right the first time, with the least probability of wishing I had gotten something else in many years to come. That’s it ha. Versatility and longevity in a TIG welder that I can do as much as possible with for as long as possible without the need for another machine.

The $15,000 models are a little rich for me . . . But I don’t care about budget between the 800-1500-3500-4500 etc so much as I care about which is the best bang for the buck that won’t have to be replaced later.

    Experienced input very welcome!

    4 run, 2 don't
First time laying beads and gluing stuff together!

I put together 3 T's until I figured out movement speed, wire speed, voltage, etc -

    20211021_084505.jpg

Was a little stoked about these since the first 2 T's were stringers -

    Not me.

I have a conversation with pro welders every week. Nothing beats the versatility of MIG welding.

My first question would be what manufacture has the best support in your area ?

If you had loyalty to any brand you would not even ask.

I am guessing you want to be able tig weld Aluminum Foil as well as 1/4" Aluminum it depends what you can live with for output.

Are you looking for hours of Arc time every day?

Do you want to go with liquid cooled right away?

Know what you buy today will seem old fashioned and outdated in 5 years

Myself I am a Gung Ho Miller person only because the great support in this area .

I would Say a Miller Diversion 180 or a Miller Syncrowave 210 after that looking at a Miller Dynasty prices really rise.

Although I only own Miller welders and can barely tig weld, I like my dynasty Miller tig. Easy to use and air gas carry’s all the parts. With that said, the only non Miller thing I have is an everlast plasma cutter which I’m happy with and I would not hesitate to get one of their welders.
