Yeah there are places like that in the fancy parts of downtown LA too, likely people that make crazy F you money and keep rentals in different cities for when they are in town on business/vacation.

Unless you've lived in any one area long enough, I'd always recommend renting before buying because you could end up hating where you end up.

Guess that's true. I've never lived outside the east valley of Phoenix. Depending on rent price though, you may be better off just losing some closing costs if you hate your house after 2 years or whatever.

great, I get to drive into downtown LA's fashion district later this week to pick up stuff for work. It's quite possibly one of the worst places on earth. Kind of want to see if they'll let me drive the company utility van so my truck doesn't get jacked.

Much more at risk than that seeing as how much the market can change in just a few years o_O

Homes are getting snatched up quick, but they're also fetching a shit ton more than say a year ago.

However, if you sold that same home some 6 years ago that you've owned for 2 or so years, you would've 'possibly' broken even....maybe or maybe not.

Intersting, thinkpads have had charge limiting features for a long time.

Windows and software developmet in general is in a weird place these days, feels like everything is a moving target.

Yeah I was literally on a cliff looking over the ocean for under $2K when I was out there.
I've been looking at month-to-month spots in L.A. for mid 2022 and they're not terrible for what you can get. What was always funny to me when I was in NYC or CA was friends here and in NC who would bust my balls for prices without thinking about it.

Honestly if I saw that on the street I wouldn't link it to Back to the Future, so $50k is stupid. The one in the movie isn't even lifted that high.

Lulz I forgot how emo the lyrics are. I was one of them parkour kids before it had a name, I used to put their albums of my ipod to get ampd up to "wallrun".
Dusting off that brain cell made me miss that ipod haha. I bought the first gen one that did photos brand new, just so I could catalog my albums with cover art:laughing:

I had my vcr serviced back when they had TV repair stores still. Not that long ago but feels like it.. I did it during the hddvd vs blu-ray wars, figured it was only a matter of time till they became obsolete and needed to make sure I can watch old westerns that only have VHS releases

Can confirm. Instead of renting though, I've been buying. I work for a general contractor that has projects all over the country. Average project time is 5-7 years. I have been taking per diem and renting for the first year of each project while feeling out the real estate market. Once the per diem is done, I purchase a house/property and live there until the project is complete.

I have 2 houses now (live in one, renting the other) and buying another in a year or so. Plan is to own 4 or 5 places around the country in the next 10-15 years. I'm sitting on $4500/mo for mortgages currently, about to be $7k. Shit is gonna be tough if we go through another recession and renters fall through.
