Exactly! I remember when she was leading the Indy 500, could've gone on to win it had she not been running low on fuel and had to dial it back. She should've stayed in open wheel racing. Nascar was not a good move for her. She was good as a commentator at indy but F1? we'll see.

 

I would prefer if the sky team brought on the next version of Steve Matchett. They already have plenty of ex-drivers commentating, someone from the technical side would bring a different perspective. I always thought Matchett brought a unique perspective to the commentary.

 

agree. but he never went deep enough, which seemed to be that problem of trying too hard to bring in new viewers and speaking to them as if they knew nothing. but i do miss him in particular. he's on his own over in F1.com, but Jolyon Palmer is my current favorite. Davidson and Chandok are good, Button often has tidbits to offer. but you're right it's mostly the same perspective there.

 

F1 is becoming (or maybe has always been) a celebrity show now. Been seeing the F1 Instagram page showing all these celebrities attending the races (Millie Bobby Brown from Stranger Things? haha) among so many more. It's like the 'thing' to do these days!

 

It’s always been the thing for the rich and famous to do.
