Nice pics! I'm doing something similar too; cycling up the highest paved roads and sometimes I'll do the highest point, finding the geo discs. Jeromith Hill was brutal, right? hahah, I had a good laugh when I found that one. Have fun on the journey!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Rhode Island is on private property and is only available a few days a year? I've done the northeast but not RI

It use to be private. It’s open to the public now. It takes less than 5 minutes to get from the road to the high point.

    https://www.summitpost.org/jerimoth-hill/152342

“Brown University owned it starting in 2012 and as of October 2014, the highpoint and the access road to it is owned by the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management’s public lands. Previously access was 8am to 6pm, but others have reported it is open all the time, and that may be the case now that it is owned by the State of Rhode Island.”

I'm (kind of) working on this too. I have 8 so far:
Black Elk Peak 7,244', South Dakota 9/2/2018
    Mount Elbert 14,440', Colorado 9/15/2018
Taum Sauk Mountain 1,772', Missouri 11/22/2018
    Panorama Point 5,424', Nebraska 5/10/2019
    Hawkeye Point 1,670', Iowa 6/9/2019
    Mt. Sunflower 4,039', Kansas 9/26/2020
    Black Mesa 4,973', Oklahoma 10/9/2021
Wheeler Peak 13,161', New Mexico 10/10/2021
I might hit Charles Mound in Illinois over Labor Day weekend. That's one of the private property ones only open a few days per year.

It gives a unique purpose or 'side mission' to accomplish beyond simply stepping foot in all 50 states.

    So far I've got 7:
    -Mt Washington (NH)
    -Mt Katahdin (ME)
    -Mt Marcy (NY)
    -Mt Rogers (VA)
    -Mt Whitney (CA)
    -Mt Elbert (CO)
-Wheeler Peak (NV) (Yes, Boundary Peak is the real one but I think it counts)

Its not really a goal of mine, but I have gotten some of the hard ones out of the way. Might check Hawaii off the list too within the next year...

    back to bone stock.
i imagine some states, the summit is nothing more than a short stroll up a noll.

across the country, a contingent of police officers climb their states highest peaks to honor the fallen. i think it's call, "cops on tops" or something.

Super cool thread OP! I love the pics and the sense of adventure.

I will warn you that the highest point in MD is a bit underwhelming. I did it a couple years ago. It’s a nice hike, you actually start the hike in WV because that’s where the base of the “mountain” is and the summit is technically in MD.

The MD one you have to hike to the top but the base of the trail starts on a highway and isn’t marked, it’s kind of odd haha.
