    2021 Cement Tacoma Off Road
Hey all. New forum member here and a new Tacoma owner as well. Recently bought a Cement TRD Off Road double cab and love it.

I am about the pull the trigger on a set of Method MR313 wheels in 17" x 8.5" and I wanted to make sure I order the right size tire. I assume a 265-65-17 keeps the circumference as close to stock wheels as possible? Looking through the archives I see some people running a 265-70-17 as well but that would seem to create about a 3% difference and throw off mileage and speed. or do most people not care about that?

    Thanks in advance.

No, Toyotas run about 2-3% under anyway. A 265/70/17 will put you right on the money per GPS.

It all depends on your preference. Most people want the biggest tire they can fit without rubbing. If you are concerned about mileage and speed accuracy stay with the 265/65/17. I have 255/80/17 (33") and love them. My mileage reads slightly lower than it should and speedometer reflects a couple miles per hour slower than actual. I don't mind since my truck will read lower mileage than actual if I ever go to sell it.

That is close enough to not be a problem. In fact you may find more options and better prices on 265/70/17's. Tires get smaller as they wear anyway. It is impossible for the odometer and speedometer to be completely accurate 100% of the time anyway. A set of 265/70/17 after they are near the end of their useful life are going to be about the same size as 265/65/17's when new.

I wouldn't go quite that far. That would mean a full inch...1/2" at the top and 1/2" at the bottom would be worn away. But the logic is sound.
