I have a 2009 Tacoma TRD OFF-ROAD. I have a clicking sound coming from my front end (sounds like rock stuck in my tire). The clicking sound will go away when I press the break. I took it to Toyota and they told me it was my front wheel bearing’s. They also wants 750$ per side. Does anybody have any ideas or has anybody had this happens to them?

@gearcruncher i just replaced the calibers and pads 10,000 miles ago. I have read the link you sent. I’m going to take them apart add grease and maybe replace the pins as well. Thanks!

If you could add details to your explanation in your first post , you may get better answers .
What speed do you hear the clicking
Does it click when turning corners
Does it click when using 4x4
Do you have aftermarket rims ? some rims will actually rub up against the brake caliper
    Welcome to TW dude

I just had the front brakes on my 08 replaced last week, and I also had a clicking sound coming from the front left. I thought it may be a wheel bearing as well. Turned out to be the backing plate was bent slightly and would rub on the caliper. They bent it back. No more clicking.

@gearcruncher thanks for advice. I hear the clicking noise between 5-15 MPH. You don’t hear it when you turn or have it in 4X4. I have stock rims the only thing I have up front is a dif drop due to the 5100’s I’m about to put in.

@Rocketball my boy told me to check that. That was the next step. Thanks guys.

    failed CV joints click.
Loose components clunk. As do worn ball joints.

Wheel bearings usually whine/moan under certain conditions. Certain speeds, high speed, and under load when turning.
If you're taking a long turn at higher speed, somewhat sweeping at turn, going left, the right bearing will moan (opposite rule)

A lot of this stuff is due at 100k anyway.
    (bushings, ball joints, bearings)

CV joints are usually strong enough metal to last 1million miles if you keep them in good shape. As in greased and with boots intact instead of torn.
