I didn't really want to go to the ceremony but my grandmother traveled from Nebraska to Phoenix AZ for the occasion. I couldn't let grandma down and now that I'm older and she's gone, sure am glad I went. Grandma was so cool.

More training today. Boring, but it's good to practice I guess. Took apart two valves yesterday with pressure seals, a check and a gate valve. Today is accumulators.
Don't have to leave near as early going the training center. :pccoffee:

Still training the older gentleman with 30+ yrs experience pushing buttons I guess.
The drum vac hose plugged up and instead of just clearing the hose he came and found me asking what do I do???
    Wow really.
Inspection is buried (me) bearing housings and heater block shown.
The bearing housing is 300lbs it has a 10.502+/- .0005 bore.
Also a few .001 and .002 tolerance feature.
The bearings are super expensive so it needs to be right!

I was lucky enough to support an operation yesterday with Boeing where they offloaded oxidizer from their Starliner capsule and removed valves that had been intermittently functional.

The valves themselves are being sent to different Space Centers around the country to be evaluated for why they failed. I'm really looking forward to hearing what they come up with. Their techs were seeing corrosion...obviously unacceptable with the quality of stainless that those valves should be made with.

Looks like publicly they are now saying humidity intrusion is to blame. Tests to follow...

I can kinda relate your trainee is still more or less new some people really don`t have the do what needs done attitude then ask I hope doing that was ok.

When we got new people on our Millwright crew it took some time to merge even people with 10 plus years experience.

“Mornings” and “Monday “. They both start with “M”. Coincidence? I think not!

I've spent the last 3 hours researching a new projector for our conference room.

It was a bit difficult separating my "what should we get for work" brain from my "what would I buy for my theater room" brain.

    Good morning crew.
Had a malfunction with our big lathe in the shop. Won't get to look at it until I have electric shop support on Tuesday. I checked belts they good. Oil levels are good. When I removed one of the side covers to reveal a couple of solenoid valves...something smelled a little foul in there. Connections looked a little toasty.
