I recently put on 3rd gen rims (2019) on my 2nd gen Tacoma (2007). The tire shop said they weren’t able to put in the sensors with the new wheels by the angle. What sensors do I need that will function with my second gen in order to stop the light from coming on? TIA

    My understanding is
2nd and 3rd Gen sensors are NOT compatible due to freq and software.
But the sensor will fit either Gen wheels, so long as you are swapping from Aluminum wheels to Aluminum wheels.
As steel wheel sensors are different.

Either of you guys know for sure?

If you switched steel wheel for aluminum then yes the tpms sensors are sensitive. Sometimes they can work by turning then to face closer to the wheel rim. Otherwise, you need new tpms sensors for aluminum wheels.
From what I know, the 2nd gen was capable of having 5 sensors programmed and the 3rd gen only has 4 programmable sensors.

No. I’ve been missing the sensors since 2017 when I bought it.

I’m not educated on the subject, but trust me… you’ll get used to the tire light in a few weeks.

I did the same .Then went to rockauto.com and bought 4 denso sensors and had them installed and now my 13 has new tires/wheels/sensors.
