Hi, I was changing my spark plugs. Got that all good and wrapped up. Then I inspect the rest of the truck and found what looks like a leak from the rear axle.

I'm not sure if it's a gasket that went bad or a hole in the axle itself? I am looking for any insight. Not sure where to start. Going to add more fluid and go from there.

I bet it’s just a leaky gasket and the oil was flowing around in the wind. Super easy to change the oil and plop in a new gasket and see if that fixes it.

Thank you guys for responding so quickly and giving me some insight!

Soooooo, a little good news. I dont have a leak from the rear diff after all. I feel really stupid.

I have a magnaflow with a turndown on it. After I changed the plugs I started the truck and let it run at idle for about 3 minutes just to see if I missed anything and to let it warm up. This was the first start of the day and all of the condensation shot out of my turndown and was covering the axle in the liquid that comes out naturally.

Long story short, I saw liquid on my axle and over reacted. Everything is ok.

Thanks again to the guys who responded while I was having a mini freak out haha.
