I am new to this forum, I will be taking ownership of my 2022 TRD Sport in November. I have owned Toyotas most of my driving life. I had a mazda rx2 then a pontiac, astra first 2 cars, ( junk). My first Toyota truck was a 1980 long bed pick up replaced by a 1986 sr5 4x4 x cab. i had to sell it after my wife had a wreck and her car was totaled and I had no way to get my toddler son at the time, to the Dr. to get checked out. I replaced it with a 96 T100 extended cab 4x4. that was a nice truck but it most of had a hit me sign on it. it was totaled with in 3 years. so I replaced it in I January 2003 with my current 2002 sr5 4Runner. She now has 156K runs like the day I got her. I had planned to get a new 4runner but chose a Taco because of better gas mileage than 4 runner and a little bit more towing. I drive my trucks in the winter, the rest of the time I drive my addictions, I mean convertibles. I have 3. 1985 Celica GTS convertible, 1997 Bmw z3 and 1990 Porsche 944 S2 Convertible. I have owned the Porsche the longest ( besides the 4runner) If it didn't need to plow my road or pull a trailer I likely would give up a truck. ( I drive a truck in the wither because of salt) I hate rust.

Other Toyotas of note I have or have owned. I picked up a 1987 Supra 5 years ago that had sat in a storage locker for years. ( I had always wanted one) My son and I brought it back to life ( long story) in short it helped me to teach my son how to work on cars and he loves it. I pick up another project (two) this fall. 2 1985 Celica GTS hatch backs. They have been sitting four 20 years. one in a barn and one out side. I plan to restore the one that sat in the barn as it is rust free.
Back in the day I also had a 1980 Celica Supra ( summer baby) 1975 Ceilca gt I loved them both but sold, the 75 for the 1980 truck. I was married now and my wife drove a 1984 Celica couple. I sold the Supra because I was getting ready for kids and wanted a convertible.

In any case I do my own work on my cars and the ones my wife and daughter drives. ( a couple Chevy's and a BMW 530) I cant find someone I trust to work on the Porsche and I know it done right when I do it.

I like that this forum has the military designation I guess you would call it. I served from 1985 to 2014, in the Airforce active and reserve. I am currently a teacher and live in Iowa. I cant wait to enjoy my new Taco and see how it is different from my old Toyotas.

It was a good truck. It had some rust on the seem of the box. I was TDY in California and found a clean box and convinced the Chief you let me put it in the back of the 6pack with the equipment and haul it back to Offutt. the truck was Tan, box was light blue ( i didn't like it) so I paint the hole thing 95 Camry green dark metallic. the truck never got stuck. i dont miss locking hubs though.

Welcome 1933 and same here! I have had my fair share of Corollas and the like but now I am back with Toyota in my new '21 Taco. Already looking at buying tune files so that it actually drives properly!
