Just trying to help you out bud based on my past experience owning/operating a chain of auto parts stores for 16 years. Can even count how many times customer's wet passenger side floor ended up being result of leaking heater core.

Having said that though, my '96 still has it's original heater core in it.

Quick update. I dried the carpet out completely. Reinstalled the rubber floor mat and did some driving today. About 3 hours driving total, two 1.5 hours drives. Had the AC on the entire ride and just checked the floorboard and under the passenger side dash area around the drain hose. No signs of moisture. Going to be doing a garden hose test next, starting at the cowl and working my way up along the windshield... Will update after.

Elliot try spraying up from the bottom of the wheel well just in case its from water on the road or mud puddles. If all else fails drive it in a lake up to the door handles. Just kidding. They make a smoke kit for checking water leaks. They can be a bitch to find. I always go up and not down because if you start at the top and it leaks you may not be able to tell where it has a void.

There was a thread not too long ago about a owner with a new truck. He took his truck through a commercial one off wash rack and would get water to come in the fresh air inlet box, it's just under the passenger side cowl closeout. It's pretty interesting. The damper closes, when you select recirculate.

Very possible. I had one that ran down the drip rail and into a very small hole and built up and then dumped on the carpet. You may have to pull the cowl vent cover and look for any body seam sealer missing or a vent door not working right. Wish you were here so i could help. Post pictures of anything that does not look right

I installed aftermarket TRD Pro grill with 4 LED lights, and Installed a Prinsu roof rack with LED lightbar.
Hi I have a 2019 TRD OR that in rain storms I get a little water coming in and dropping on my floor mat. I can't get it to come in thru a carwash or with a water hose at home. When I took it to the dealer they said they could not recreate. any ideas?

If it is really leaking then the dealer is just saying they don’t want to work on it. Water leaks are a big money looser for them. The tech gets 1 hour to fix it and might work on it 5hours. That is not your problem so you need to be nice but firm and tell and show where the water is pooling.

So I just encountered a similar passenger side leak this morning. Hasn’t rained at all or been to car wash in a bit. The only thing was I ran my A/C for a hour on my commute to work.

Even if your finding the puddle under your truck, the drain can be (and likely is) partially plugged. I have had the same issue, and the a/c refresh service is the trick. I had a puddle. I had the wet carpet. Take it in for the service, or buy the stuff yourself and do it. For the price (DIY), it is definitely a first choice in troubleshooting.

I thought this problem was solved by another user? Obviously besides checking the drain and simple fixes and nothing was found and depending on location ie. The humidity and temp coupled with recirculating ac it’s just condensation and an insufficiently insulated box.

if your location is as mentioned above this could be it (kind of the last option)
Edit: user was @45 something sorry I can’t remember

One more easy thing to check: There is a rubber plug under the passengers seat. It's for the wires of the power tailgate lock to exit the cab. Unlikely but might be worth a check.

Be careful with that as it will go under the floor mat and sit. Ive been going back and forth with my dealer to get them to find a solution for my leaky AC just like this. In the meantime, I created a little "ramp" for the drip which makes it go onto my weathertech mats. Pretty damn ridiculous for a 35k truck but id rather do that then have it begin to create mold and mildew.

Yes. That is how mine was. Top of carpet was never wet, but installing some wiring, I found the insulation underneath was completely soaked. The hose running from the box to the firewall is under the carpet (top).

Using the sprays above, I've gotten the drain to flow more free, and the stench that sometimes accompanied the a/c is gone. Now a part of yearly maintenance.

It's sad toyota designed it this way. Should be a lawsuit in my opinion. Designed with a flaw, and to hide the flaw, causing mold/ mildew, and even rust eventually. I've never had a vehicle do this, and I'm 53 years old.... having many automobiles in my days. Sad....

With that evap core cleaner, you just spray it up into the drain tube? I dont see how this would do anything if the cause is an improperly insulated box....

Ya, just spray t up the tube. The best I can explain, is it cleans out the drain allowing better flow. That's how I understand it anyway. Cleans out the funky crap that has been growing from the standing water in the box. I'm not a mechanic. Just someone who has benefited from the service. As I said earlier, I had water dripping from the drain, but was still partially restricted.

It's been a month or so since the service was done, and all is good so far.
