    Better at what?
Ive owned two Jeeps, a Taco, and currently in a Tundra. The Jeeps came in 3rd and 4th place out of said four vehicles in reliability but my Wrangler was the cats pajamas offroad (and was fun as shit to drive). Thats literally all it was useful for though..

This is a good answer as any.
Currently have a 2013 double cab off road, 2017 sport access cab 4x4, and a 2016 JKU Rubicon.
Both vehicles hold their value well.
I think any Tacoma is going to cost more than $2,700.00 in modifications to run 35" tall tires like my Jeep...that's total for lift wheels and tires maybe another $100 for the PROCAL to correct speedometer and transmission shift points. A person might still be able to hang with the Rubicon off road but probably tear stuff up.
I haven't had any issues with any of the vehicles mechanical wise, but long term would trust Toyota's reliability...my 2 cent

Everything breaks. New Bronco beats all midsize off road rigs currently "available" IMO.
I think the next gen Tacoma will be a major step forward.

The stock hangers destroy the ride and compliance of the Tacoma due to flexing so much. Swap in Hammer hangers to improve ride, handling and composure

    Toyota or Bronco don't offer a factory 470 horse 6.4L V8.....
Yeah, factory even real beadlock wheels, might as well if you got that kind of coin to spare

What task? If it's farm work I'd say a Tacoma. The Jeep might handle the terrain better, but you won't have a bed. I don't think a Gladiator would work well with the long wheel base, and what farmer is going to splurge on a Gladiator for field work? Maybe a J10 would work, but how reliable would one of those be, and how easy is to find parts for a J10. Plus it's not as nimble as a Tacoma. J10 colud probably be quite the workhorse though.

What farmer is picking a 5 foot bed or a gladiator that can’t haul anything over a full size. Hobby farmer maybe. My buddy’s GMC can pull over 30,000 lbs.

Better at what, fitting big tires without cutting on the frame? That is true.

Trucks were made to carry loads and people to unload the pay. A lot of the time pay is located outside the road, so the load has to get off-road, so the trucks do that too.

The Jeep is primarily designed to deliver passengers to off-road locations, so it must be able to at least do that.

So to be fair…If you want to know which is better, load the truck bed with 800lbs. of lumber, and attach a cargo trailer to the Jeep and load it up with 800lbs, of lumber, take down to the trails and see which one is best.

Oh, and be sure to let me know.

IDK? maybe it could be used to supplement a larger truck, or it could be the right size to drive between your rows of crops. Probably gets better milage than a tractor, and will keep the hours off your meter.

I've passed a few Jeeps broken down on the side of the road. I usually stop for broken down Toyotas.

My father in law loved jeeps and constantly complained about reliability. But he still loved them. He is the only person I know who doubled his money on an extended warranty.
