Another remote start question

Hi all I have been using my FOB start and it works great but still need some practice.While the truck is running after remotely starting why there are no lights on to indicate that the truck is running. My older remote start vehicles always had marker lights on while running which was great but this new Taco I see nothing so hard to say if it is running unless I go outside and listen.
I am wondering maybe because I have the lights on auto if that would have anything to do with it.
Be nice I know there have been threads on this but never about lights on while running

I'm pretty sure the truck will only run for 8 minutes on remote start. I just set a timer on my phone after starting

 

If you use the app it'll tell you it's started (and shows a timer until it auto shuts off)

 

I leave just my parking lights on all the time they auto shut off when you turn the truck off and open a door.

 

He stated in the first post he's using his FOB to start the truck. You don't have to pay to do that

So we just purchased a 2021 this last Summer that I haven't had much chance to do anything with. I got called out to work in fires here in California the day after my Wife went to pick up and I've been gone for the most part.
Does the stock 2021 TRD Off Road remote start with the Key Fob?

I have a 21 TRD OR DCLB. The fob does work to remote start it. Like said previously click lock three times, but on the third push hold the button. I usually count to 5 and release. I guess I’m lucky. The longest fire I’ve been on was about 12 hours.

 

I tried it and the parking lights do not come on when remote starting.
When I get in the truck shuts off which is normal but the parking lights are not on till I push start it again then the lights come on.
I tried with all the lights on and they come on when remote starting and shut off when opening door or turning off truck with FOB. Once the truck as started then I turn all the lights off again as I do not want to drive around with lights.
So for those who have a new 2021 the only way to find out if your truck is running you have to turn all your head lights on before shutting down for a length of time. This way when you remote start all the lights will come on and turn off when you shut down.
If anyone else can contribute to this with another way of remote starting so the lights will come please let me know.

 

The only way lights come on is if you turn them on. I just leave my parking or DRL lights on. I'm pretty sure you would have to modify the wiring to do what you are asking.

 

What I am trying to say is that my Venza and my other Tacos with after factory remote start always had the parking lights on when running after starting automatically did not have to turn them on and if I did they would not turn off when shutting vehicle down with the remote control.
This 3 Gen with FOB is totally different and also I do not have a DRL switch as I live in Canada and the DRL are on all the time as this is the law. Turning my marker lights on will not come on when remote starting.
This is why I say I have to turn all the lights on before shutting down so this way they will turn on when I remote start it and turn off when I remote shut it down which is what I want but not with all the lights on.
I hope some other member here with 2021 TRD Sport with remote start from Canada can respond and tell me what they think or what happens to them with the OEM remote start.

what remote starter do you have? OEM? I"m not too familar with it, but my aftermarket N2 my headlights are on when remote started and it stays started for 15 mins (or maybe even 30?) but i usually only start it about 5 mins before

 

I have OEM FOB.
had after market AutoStart on my previous Venza and Tacos and they always had parking lights come on when running after starting with remote and then they would shut off. This Taco is totally different for starting etc etc.

 

I'll be out probably 100 days this season, but it's not over yet!

 

I think that I finally figured out how this remote start with the FOB works.
1st click locks front doors
2nd click locks back doors
3rd starts the truck.
When I am clicking I look at the light on the FOB when it blinks I click again till it blinks then click again and hold then the FOB will blink a few times then the truck starts. Still a weird system compared to the after markets which are user friendly.
