This is true sir. I own my own windshield company. Been in the business for 17years. And 500$ is steep for a Prius. If you disconnect the camera then it has to be recalibrated. I just let them hang then put right back on after the new window is installed. Havent had any issues with them doing it that way. I swear safelite is just using that as a money grab. Greedy multi billion dollar corporation.

About a year ago in my old service truck I was cruising down 94 in eastern CO when BOOM my driver window exploded into the truck. No other vehicles around so I'm still not sure what happened, from where the hole started maybe caught a stray bullet or something, who knows. It was stupid, HR and regional safety had to get involved to make sure I was "OK" and not traumatized
Worst part is my chicken quesadilla that I just opened up was full of glass, didn't even get one bite in.

My new truck has laminated side windows, so that's cool I guess...

I didn't care about the cost, I have a zero deductible comprehensive so it was all covered anyways...my agent took care of it

It is. Just dealing with this on my girlfriends vehicle. The guy at the shop says he has never had anyone have an issue by not calibrating it, but he has to ask if you want it done because of the safety issue

Oof, some carnage to the glass.

This was my parts guy at the BMW dealership where I bought my bike. They call him hat trick for it.

I didn't know what airing down was at that point..was a sports car guy before moving to Baja. Had my wife and 5 year old girl with me on camping trip. I went to school on web and have learned a ton. Just finished 2 week 3200 mile camping trip up and doen the Baja without major incident. I'm hooked haha.

Looks like a second gen in the pic. Also, I think it’s a 2WD.

2103 TRD Sport 4x4. ORs extremely rare here. Open diff, sugar sand and no off road experience led to near disaster and a story my wife will never let me forget.

Totaled my Highlander. He T boned me. Raked me down the driver side, bounced off my rear tire. The rear axle was pushed back an inch or two.

    That sucks!

There’s no damage to headlight or that beautiful Toyota grill.

You going to invest in a new bumper with wrap around grill on headlights?

Looking at the wrong mirror while backing up the driveway, garage door was open but I forgot the driveway was wider than the garage door opening.
