Sorry for the vague title. I have an old double din pioneer head unit in my 2006 Tacoma. The head unit is probably as old as the truck. It has a touch screen, CD, am fm, aux. If I buy a new Pioneer head unit, will the dash harness in the back be a plug and play? What if I deviate and buy a different aftermarket brand, are the dash harnesses all the same? Thanks !!

I don't think they've changed much, my 2014 and 2019 Pioneer head units had similar pigtails.

That said, it really wouldn't take long to rewire the new connector.

Pioneer is still one of the best choices for a headunit. Make sure to get a NEX unit with carplay or android auto.

Alpine is the only other brand that I would put in my truck. I've messed with chinese brands and won't try again.
