    I like this little one!
I can connect a 3 outlet surge protector cord and have the mini going with some nacho cheese while my crockpot has the chili.

It works well but It doesn’t “cook” the food it just keeps it warm. It pairs very well with a small griddle

We’ll, it didn’t go so well. Main issue that I did not even think of is that the crock pot turns off when the power does ( brand new, electronic control, have to cycle through the menu to high, low, etc). SO, I plugged it in with the Taco running and hit the switch for 400 Watts. All good. Then when I put the truck in drive, it cuts power to the outlet. I can start the power again, at 100 watts, BUT, that powers off the crock pot in the bed, which needs to be cycled through by hand to the correct temp/time. Even had my daughter try that while I was in the driver seat and in Drive, but it still shut down. I was in a hurry, so I ran a cord to the cab and used an inverter, which worked, but drove down the interstate with the rear window cracked enough for the cord to go through. Not ideal in ND in Oct. Overall, not impressed with the bed outlet. Proved almost unusable for me in this scenario.

    First.
Search the forum for the 400 watt anytime mod. I suck at electrical shit and I was able to do it.
Second, a used old school crock pot with a manual dial might be better suited for this application. Hiccups with inverters is not unusual

There is only 1 wattage rating on a crackpot. (Haha autocorrect changed that, thought it was funny so I left it) that is because low and high settings are the same wattage draw. The difference is how quickly they get to the maximum temperature. On low it ramps up slowly, for a nice long heat soak. On high, the temperature ramps up faster to cook a little faster. The maximum temperature is the same regardless of setting, which means there is no difference in wattage between the settings.

How did it work. The nice thing about resistance heaters is they tend not to have a spike current like an ac motor. But they typically draw a lot. Did it work?

Doesn’t it auto govern back to 100 in drive?

Hopefully you'll have more success on your next attempt. Don't forget to clean up though. It's that time of year when little critters are seeking new digs. When they smell those delish refried beans they may feast on some tasty soy wiring for dessert & decide to move in for the winter.
