Most of GM's products are disposable garbage. We just turfed my wife's 2011 Equinox that had 100,000 kms (62,000 miles) that we owned since new and was meticulously maintained. Bad piston rings were the culprit and it was consuming a couple quarts a week. It got so bad it was blowing black smoke out the exhaust and would go into limp mode. Prior to that she had a nice little Cobalt that the electric power steering took a dump on around the same mileage. Amazing there is no consumer protection for this bullshit.

Yep, like my 06 Colorado puking the head at 70K is "normal" while still in the powertrain warranty PLUS their secret warranty on that part..which I found in 3 minutes or less and nobody whose job it is to know about it did..

Yep. We had electrical issues with the Cobalt while it was under bumper to bumper warranty. The service dept still tried charging us hundreds for a diagnostic fee even when they could not figure out the issue. He couldn't explain why this was not covered by bumper to bumper warranty. I even asked the service writer what he thinks 'bumper to bumper' means. I think you already know we left without paying anything. Next day another GM dealership had found and fixed the issue. I asked if there will any charge. Service writer replied with "Why? It has bumper to bumper warranty!"...

After the fact I learned that once the vehicle is approved for the replacement, I should be refunded the diagnostic fee I was charged. You guessed it..dealer blamed the main office, who blamed the dealer. Pieces of shit

The two pillars of the Toyota way are kaizen (the philosophy of continuous improvement) and respect and empowerment for people, particularly line workers. Toyota has numerous barriers in place to assure quality put no human or part supplied by vendors is 100% perfect.

I also belong to a Ford Raptor forum. The 2021 model has significant changes this year and new owners have their share of QC complaints. Paint peeling from fender flares, loose transmissions coolant lines leaving owners stranded, misaligned body panels, dirt under the final clear coat, etc.

I'll agree with this. I had to lemon law my 2019(new body style) Silverado. The electric braking system would randomly fail while driving. Thousands had this issue and it took GM almost a year to issue a recall. I also had a misfire at idle they could not figure out.

My Ex GFs Son bought a Canyon from a private owner after l told him l thought it was a bad idea. He literally drove 1 mile before the transmission completely shit itself and had to have it towed home. I realize used vehicles are a gamble but that just was ridiculous.

Unreal. Probably held together with Lucas transmission fix and hopes and dreams until it was sold.
