What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I got my truck back with a little brake upgrade.

 

Cleaned her up in prep for 3 mods tomorrow. Here’s probably the easiest one I’ll do.

It was raining on my drive back home so I didn’t stomp on the brakes to try them out but just normal driving they did seem to make a huge difference.

 

May i ask what that ran you for front and rear? Also, are you noticing any decrease in E break performance since there is less pad to surface area on the rears with the disk vs stock drum?

 

It was just shy of $4k for both kits, purchased from https://sosperformance.com/. I didn’t notice anything parking in my driveway, which has a slight angle, but I need to try parking on one of the hills near by to see if there are any issues. I didn’t even think about it when I got home, since it just worked, whereas I have a Subaru WRX that loves to roll away and you really need to make sure it’s happy before you walk away.

 

Looking CLEAN!!! What are the details? What size wheels and tires? Any lift?

 

I've been thinking about doing the same thing but haven't popped them off yet. Were the chrome emblems hard to remove & how did you do this.

 

Is your Tacoma an auto or manual? Just curious how affective the e-brake on a manual with the rear kit.

Ridiculously easy. The center caps just pop off with a little squeeze and pull and the emblems have two little metal tabs protruding through the back. I just gave each tab a good smack with a hammer and they came off.

The decals I applied for now look okay i guess but if you get REALLY close you can make out where the tab holes were (since it's a sticker). I ordered some rigid backed domed decals I think will be much better. I'll post those once they're on.
